Health Information Management Analyst
Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking an experienced Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst to join our dedicated HIM team. In this crucial role, you will ensure the security, confidentiality, completeness, and accuracy of medical records in accordance with organizational policies and relevant regulatory guidelines. Your key responsibilities include organizing, assembling, analyzing, and maintaining medical records and charts, as well as reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness. Success in this position requires a comprehensive understanding of state privacy laws and federal health regulations, prior administrative experience, and excellent computer, phone, and customer service skills. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Medical Records Management & Compliance** - Organize, assemble, analyze, and maintain medical records, ensuring completeness and accuracy while auditing patient charts for regulatory compliance and identifying documentation deficiencies for physician completion. + **Release of Information & Patient Privacy** – Process medical record requests, verify proper authorizations and signatures, prioritize ROI requests, and ensure all processing complies with Vermont State Privacy laws and HIPAA regulations. + **Customer Service & Technical Support** - Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone calls, greeting visitors, supporting patient portal enrollment, and addressing technical issues. + **Data Management & Electronic Health Records** - Scan paper documents into the electronic health record system, submit Electronic Birth Records to the State of Vermont, monitor duplicate record accuracy, run reporting for quality assurance, and provide charge entry for billing procedures with appropriate clinical documentation. **Qualifications:** + **Education & Experience** - High School Diploma or equivalent required, with previous experience in a similar healthcare information management or medical administration role. + **Technical & Analytical Skills** - Advanced understanding of medical terminology and administrative processes, combined with strong computer skills and analytical abilities to identify and resolve data integrity issues. + **Communication & Interpersonal Skills** - Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with proven capacity to interact effectively with healthcare staff, patients, and the public while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. **About NVRH:** Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, in the Northeast Kingdom.
