The Home Care Health Care Aide functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing healthcare services for clients and family members in their home environment. Note: This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required, and the ability to drive in long distances in all weather conditions. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Description:As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team providing personal assistance including supporting activities of daily living and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this position you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities assisting nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs, assisting with organized activities or programs and observing and reporting on a patient's mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under a regulated health professional you will be assisting in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors, and maintaining effective communication with patients and health professionals.

Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to work independently to deliver client care. 3-5 years of HCA experience. Current BLS-HCP. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous Seniors’ Health Home Care experience preferred. Medication Assistance Experience (MAPs). Willingness to participate in team collaboration through team meetings, client review and interdisciplinary discussions. Commitment to continued learning. At least 1 to 2 years of recent HCA experience is preferred.
