About the Role
Ford Australia is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to join Ford Motor Company, Product Development team. This role will focus on the Site Operational areas supporting both the Research & Development Centre, Geelong and You Yangs Proving Ground, Lara.
You’ll be positively contributing to the safety & wellbeing of our employees, visitors and contractors that design, engineer & test vehicles such as the Ford Ranger, Ranger Raptor and Everest products for both domestic and international markets.
Reporting to the Head of Safety & Wellbeing, Australia & New Zealand, you’ll be working within a small dynamic team.
This is an on-site position based at our You Yangs Proving Ground Site in Lara, Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure events and testing activities have appropriate levels of control to maintain safety whilst meeting the unique needs of the business. Facilitate and lead as required EH&S incident investigations to identify root (systemic) causes and to provide associated corrective actions. Vehicle incident investigation experience is desirable Provide technical EHS advice to managers, supervisors, employees and health and safety representatives. Manage known EH&S hazards and monitor the implementation of relevant treatment plans. Maintain effective feedback loops with local management, Local Consultative Forums, and Health and Safety Representatives and employees. Assist the broader health, safety and wellbeing team in the design and development of health and safety policies and processes as required, delivery of corporate and localised training programs to address significant risk areas. Facilitate the annual Audit Program and certification requirements. Provide leadership, direction, planning, governance and guidance on Health and Safety matters.
About you:
Diploma in Environment, Health and Safety, Science or Engineering (or higher). 5+ years OHS experience in both operational and professional environments highly preferred. Knowledge and understanding of environmental, quality and contractor management processes beneficial. Proven ability to liaise confidently with external providers and regulators. Knowledge and understanding Management Systems e.g. ISO45001.
