Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The Project Kuiper European Consumer team is looking for a Health and Safety Professional will be responsible for leading our Health and Safety activities in Europe.
A successful candidate will be a proactive leader with a deep understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices. We are looking for someone with experience of managing safety compliance, audits, and performance improvement, particularly in collaboration with third-party partners. The ideal candidate will ensure that all third-party installers adhere to company standards and local safety regulations.
This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations.”
Key job responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of health and safety policies across third-party installer companies, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company guidelines
- Develop and enforce safety protocols for installers, minimizing risk during satellite broadband installations
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of third-party partners to assess compliance with health and safety standards
- Provide training materials and standards to support third-party installation teams, ensuring they are knowledgeable about safety practices and regulatory requirements
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and driving initiatives to reduce incidents
- Lead investigations into any safety incidents or near misses, ensuring root cause analysis is conducted and corrective actions are implemented
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to stay updated on local safety regulations and ensure all partners remain compliant
- Develop a continuous improvement framework for health and safety practices, sharing best practices across all third-party installers
- Ensure all third-party companies are aware of and adhere to any changes in safety regulations or company standards
