WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Health and Safety Manager, you will be appointed to comprehensively carry out safety and health management tasks within the workplace. You will implement a strategy to ensure a safe work environment for colleagues and an environment where customers can shop without fear of accident or injury, while securing full compliance with both H&M Group standards and Korean legal requirements, including the SAPA.
You will:
Establish and manage the budget for health and safety activities and develop an industrial accident prevention plan.Serve as H&M brand's dedicated health & safety function owner and leader, responsible for all workplace safety operations and compliance matters.Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, implement preventive measures, and ensure effective systems are in place for incident recording and monitoring.Maintain compliance with all local safety legislation, including K-OSHA, and manage relations with local authorities and third-party contractors.Lead, coach, and support all colleagues, providing up-to-date training and fostering a feedback culture to build safety knowledge across the organization.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As the Health and Safety Manager, you'll work closely with colleagues and departments within the company. You'll work with local authorities like K-OSHA and the Ministry of Employment and Labour as well. Your goal is to secure full compliance with all regulations and ensure a safe work environment for everyone.
This role will be reporting to the Expansion Manager during the initial transition period.
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for people with a deep understanding of safety and compliance, including:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, or a related technical field is also required.Management Experience:
Experience managing safety and health professionals or specialist teamsExperience in industrial safety and health budget management and analysisExperience implementing safety training programs in accordance with the Industrial Safety and Health ActExperience in industrial safety and health budget management and analysis.Experience in industrial safety and health training in accordance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act.Experience in conducting independent external audits.Technical Competencies:
Experience conducting independent external audits and regulatory inspectionsKnowledge of Korean safety regulations (K-OSHA, SAPA) and compliance requirementsAbility to interface with government authorities and manage contractor relationshipsStrong analytical skills for risk assessment and incident investigationAnd people who:
Are skilful in problem-solving, and mathematical skills.Are excellent in communication, presentation, and training skills in both Korean and English.
