Health and Manager required for a well respected developer in Devon! Reporting to the MD, you will work closely with internal teams to bring in processes and procedures and be at the forefront of leading excellent examples of health and safety on site, and a high standard of quality.
You will be required to conduct regular inspections on site with several sites running concurrently. You will champion sustainability obligations at the pre development stage and work with internal teams to discharge conditions, as well as deliver the environmental obligations on behalf of the business, whilst exceeding customer expectations.
Instil a positive attitude to prevention of accidents within the business whether this is on site or in the office. Ensure sites are set up correctly from commencement, with signage, notices, documents and instructions in place. Check compliance is being adhered to
Summary of Duties:
Liaising with the Company’s external Health & Safety adviser's to maintain safe working environmentsMonitor, evaluate and review current and upcoming Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and ensure that the Company has systems and procedures in place to be legally compliantEstablish and manage the resources needed to discharge health and safety responsibilitiesMonitor and be aware of the performance of our competitors and their methods of operationControl and manage the cost of health and safetyEnable the investigation of accidents and compilation of accident dataEnsure that any particular health and safety needs of employees, customers, subcontractors and any other people that could be affected by the Company’s activities, are adequately consideredEnsure that rigorous risk assessment and accident management systems are in place to identify hazards and to ensure that adequate control measures are in placeSetting and enforcing the procedures and standards that the Company is to followMonthly health and safety inspections of our projects
Qualifications required
NEBOSH or qualified up to NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and SafetyIdeally IOSH Membership (CMIOSH)Experience of working with ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001First Aid at WorkExperience and attributes required
Essential to have experience in a similar H&S or SHEQ roleProven background in construction ideally housebuildingExperience in carrying out hands on site inspections and auditsExcellent communication skillsTeam playerOrganised and detailed approachAbility to inspire and motivate teams!
Please be aware regular travel to sites will be required throughout the South West region, as well as office working. A competitive salary and package is on offer for suitable experienced and qualified individuals.
