Health and Safety Manager, AMZL WHS Team

To help us achieve this, we’re seeking a driven Workplace Health & Safety Manager. As a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager, your role is key to driving improvements on-site and at a regional level. You’ll help your colleagues maintain high standards, all while driving a culture of safety and inclusivity on your perimeter. The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative and proactive individual who is passionate about Health and Safety in a professional context. In time, we’ll expect you to become as customer-centric as we are and apply this to your work each day. You will also need to be able to identify, coordinate and drive improvements in Safety, while engaging operational and other support function stakeholders. In this crucial Health and Safety position, you’ll report into the Regional Workplace Health and Safety Manager. Key job responsibilities -Assisting with the delivery of safety performance and monitoring, in line with personnel, team and functional goals and objectives. Ensuring that WHS systems are kept accurate at all times, with completed incident reports, alongside all supporting documentation. -Supporting the implementation of WHS programs within Operations, while delivering key risk assessment activities. Promoting compliance with local and EU legislation. -Contributing to requests for improvement of on-site safety and positively impact accident trends. -Manage your team on-site, whilst regularly collaborating with other teams across the company -Use internal reporting tools to analyse data reports and root causes that provide leadership with the information they need to make safety related decisions -Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies -Drive programmes designed to improve the safety culture in Amazon Participating in the Safety Audit Programs. -Arranging and conducting basic surveys and checks in the Delivery stations environment, looking into facility processes, Health and Safety supplies as well as employee behaviors. -Flexibility to travel to support at different locations in Italy as needed (position requires maximum 50% travel time with on-site auditing responsibilities). About the team Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) plays a crucial role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. Our team works with managers, associates and local governments across our sites, making sure we’re complying with Amazon’s policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe. There is a range of opportunities within the team, from Health and Safety Technicians to Program Managers. No matter what your role is, you’ll play a part in developing, implementing and upholding our high safety and wellbeing standards. You could work on a variety of projects alongside colleagues from across the business, ranging from equipment and process inspections to assessing processes, building and equipment design. Basic Qualifications • Education to a degree level and ASPP or RSPP certified • Relevant experience managing a team • Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies • Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership • Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
