Health and Protection Consultant

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health and Benefits Consulting team at Mercer Marsh Benefits. This role will be based in London or Chichester. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

Within this role you will develop and maintain a portfolio of Healthcare and Protection clients, by providing quality consulting advice and ongoing service

Ensure that revenue from this portfolio is profitable and to expand business lines and service delivery where appropriateManage and develop strong client relationships and win new businessWork pro-actively with internal teams to deliver client expectations in line with agreed client account plans

Operational

Identify business opportunities from client portfolio and your own networkProvide a service compliant with all procedures and Mercer Code of Professional Conduct and the FCAParticipate in appropriate internal forumsMaintain required industry and technical knowledgeWork with support team assigned to ensure the delivery of services to each client in line with Mercer standardsCompliance with Mercer and MMB systemsManage client projects to successful conclusionCompliance with sales process and toolsWhere a Key Account is owned by a consultant, the consultant must adhere to all the protocols and goals as set out for the Key Accounts team

Clients

Retain and develop profitable client portfolio to include new clients/service linesBuild relationships with key decision makersWin new mandatesTake overall responsibility for the delivery to the client of the agreed servicesConsult with client to agree and document needs and objectives and ensure delivery of these objectivesHold periodic review meetings with clientClient action planning in conjunction with client teamManage insurer meetings with clientsEnsure all clients have compliant engagement documentation, in line with agreed process

Financial

Adhere to Mercer billing standardsAgree and monitor client fee and service specifications to ensure continued profitabilityOwn personal and client financial targetsManage WIP & Debt

People

Act as role model with integrity and professionalismNetwork with peers internally and externallyMaintain technical knowledge to the required standardWork with client team to deliver a profitable seamless serviceRecognise success within the client teamNetwork with peer groups internally and externally

What you need to have: 

Financial and Commercial acumen (including fee negotiation skills)Related business experienceAchievement orientatedConsulting and relationship management skillsTechnical, product and process knowledgeIn depth Healthcare and Group Risk knowledge is essentialInter-personal, communication and time management skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office
