Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our team. The Heading Operator is responsible for setting up and operating cold heading machines, ensuring efficient production while maintaining quality standards. This role involves troubleshooting, performing minor maintenance, and optimizing machine performance. Utilization of measurement tools for inspection, conformance to engineering drawings and the minimization of scrap are critical to this role. Duties / Responsibilities + Ensure a safe working environment at all times. Ensure that all behaviours contribute to effective working relationships on the team. Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions in accordance with our Quality System and Production. Perform set-ups and operate cold heading machines efficiently. Inspect parts during production to ensure quality standards are met. Provide dimensionally compliant 1st off samples in a reasonable time. Load and adjust all dies, punches and transfer hardware into heading machine Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues to minimize downtime. Assist the Maintenance Technician with routine maintenance and adjustments on machines as needed. Follow production priorities. Ensure high product quality and minimize scrap rates. Inspect parts at the prescribed sampling rate. Monitor production processes and adjust machine settings for optimal performance. Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Provide accurate reporting as defined in the work instructions. Support continuous improvement initiatives. Transporting WIP parts to subsequent processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist in training new operators as required. Any other reasonable duties as directed.
