Headcount Cashier
Overview Overview: Position is located on Ascension Island. What You’ll Do The Headcount/Cashier is responsible for accurately processing food payments from service members and personnel at the Ascension Base Dining Facility, confirming customers sign in, handling cash, credit cards, meal cards, and ensuring proper record keeping, all while maintaining a friendly and efficient service environment within the guidelines of the Performance Work Statement. Responsibilities + Key Responsibilities: Please list by order of priority and, if possible, provide the percentage of time spent on the activity. All percentages should equal 100%. + Greeting customers in a friendly, professional manner, providing information about meal options, and addressing any concerns. + Receiving cash payments, providing change, and balancing cash drawer at the end of each shift. + Keeping the cashier station clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces and disposing of trash. + Monitoring food items at the serving line to ensure sufficient stock and reporting any shortages. + Accurately documenting transactions, sales reports, and any discrepancies. + The Headcount/Cashier will submit a daily summary by customer to the Supervisor. + May provide guidance and training to other employees performing related work. + Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas. + Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools). + Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet. + Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications + Minimum Qualifications + Education: Equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained may be substituted for education, if degree is required. + Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred + Certifications: + Must have and maintain a current Serve-Safe certification + Experience: + 1 year in customer service or cashier experience preferred. + Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse, dynamic team + This position requires basic math skills. + Good problem-solving skills and decision-making skills + This position requires capability to be flexible and adapt to any situation. + Other Requirements: + Must have a current, valid Passport, Driver’s License and have ability to obtain any visa required + Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently. + Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc. + Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN) + Skills and Technology Used: + Must be knowledgeable in Tri-Service Food Code, DAFMAN 34-131, AFMAN 48-147, and FDA Food Code, Food Service Program Management Armed Forces Recipe System, inventory control, HACCP, and the U.S Department of Health and Human Services Food Code standards. + Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly. + Must be able to work under pressure. + Service oriented.
