Position Overview

Menlo College seeks a visionary, student-centered leader for the position of Head Women’s Soccer Coach. This full-time, 11-month role will provide strategic direction, daily management, and values-based leadership for a competitive NCAA Division II program. The Head Coach will be responsible for fostering a high-performance culture centered on academic excellence, athletic integrity, personal development, and program accountability.

The ideal candidate will be a relationship-driven recruiter, skilled tactician, and proven program builder who aligns with Menlo’s institutional mission and the department’s commitment to developing leaders through sport.

Primary Responsibilities

Program Strategy & Leadership:

* Develop and articulate a bold vision for the Women’s Soccer program, aligned with institutional priorities and competitive goals.

* Set annual goals that prioritize competitive success, academic achievement, retention, and character development.

* Serve as the program’s chief ambassador, fostering relationships with alums, campus departments, and external partners.

Student-Athlete Development & Recruitment

* Recruit and retain high-character student-athletes prepared to contribute academically, athletically, and socially.

* Foster a holistic student-athlete experience through leadership development, wellness programming, and strong academic support collaboration.

* Implement team culture standards built on trust, effort, and accountability.

Operations, Budget, and Compliance

* Plan and manage the daily operations of the program, including training, scheduling, equipment, and travel.

* Administer and monitor program budget in line with department expectations.

* Ensure full compliance with NCAA Division II, PacWest, and institutional policies and procedures.

Staff Supervision & Mentorship

* Recruit, supervise, and develop assistant coaches and team personnel.

* Conduct regular performance reviews and promote professional development within the coaching staff.

External Engagement & Fundraising

* Collaborate with Athletics Advancement to support fundraising and donor cultivation efforts. * Represent the program at college events, meetings, appearances, and through community initiatives. * Promote a visible and positive brand for Women’s Soccer on and off campus.

Qualifications

Required: * Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. * 3–5 years of successful intercollegiate coaching experience. * Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to NCAA rules and ethical compliance. * Experience recruiting student-athletes aligned with academic and athletic standards. * Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. * Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and travel.

Preferred: * Master’s degree in a related field. * Collegiate head coaching experience. * Fundraising and community engagement experience. * Demonstrated commitment to DEIB principles and working with diverse populations.
