Head of Tax - Saudi Arabia/Riyadh
The Head of Tax will be responsible for Siemens entities in Saudi Arabia for leading all tax activities: tax compliance, tax planning, tax risk management and tax reporting. Also, he/she will be liaising closely with various Business units, Finance, and Accounting team including external tax consultants/auditors.
Responsibilities:Ensuring implementation of local taxation guidelines, policies and processes, and defining local taxation optimization measures, with special focus on Corporate Income Tax & Value Added Tax.Ensure fulfillment of tax law provisions and adherence to Company’s tax strategy and policies.Analyzing the respective local laws and regulations to comply with all legal requirements. Supports timely and tax-optimized preparation of financial statements, in cooperation with accounting function. Review business decisions for taxation impact, including project consultancy.Manage and coordinates tax audits, ensuring adequate documentation in cooperation with all the relevant Business units and external advisors.Ensuring all monthly tax closing and annual tax compliance for Siemens entities including but not limited to the preparation of tax returns, examining the financial accounts, reviewing the tax calculations according to local laws and regulations within the stipulated deadlines and ensuring timely tax payments. Providing guidance to Accounting and other business on any required tax treatment of the transaction.Liaise with tax authorities and negotiating with tax officials at a tactical level.Collaborate with the regional tax team on various ongoing international projects.Pro-actively identify weaknesses in current processes and identify solutions, to ensure that tax processes are in place and deliver the correct output. Track legislative changes and pro-actively inform different departments and business units regarding any new developments in terms of tax law and considerations.In-depth knowledge of local and international tax laws and regulations.Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals.You will have a functional reporting to the LC ME Tax Head and an in-country reporting to the Siemens Country CFO, KSA.
Requirements:
Chartered Accountant or CPA or CMA or ACCA or MBA (specialized in Finance and Accounting) from a reputable institute.You have at least 12 years’ experience in finance/accounting with leadership experience of >2-5 years.Experience in a multinational corporation or a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.Solid SAP experience is an advantage.Excellent verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as English fluency and the ability to work under pressure in difficult and often time-constrained situations.Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects/entities simultaneously in a deadline driven environment independently and within the team with high level of accuracy.Ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders.Proficiency in tax compliance, planning, and reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
