What you’ll do & Who you areAs Head of Sustainability (d/f/m) you will be a pivotal leader in driving mobile.de's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy and initiatives.
This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive sustainability programs that align with our business objectives, mitigate risks, enhance brand reputation, and deliver long-term value.
A critical aspect of this role involves navigating the complex and evolving regulatory landscape for sustainability and leading robust ESG reporting and disclosure processes.
The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in sustainability frameworks, a strong understanding of relevant regulations (especially EU regulations like CSRD, EU Taxonomy, CSDDD), and proven experience in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
This is a hybrid role based in Berlin, Charlottenburg, offering flexibility to work both remotely and in-office.
Your Key Responsibilities
Develop, refine, and lead the sustainability roadmap for the mobility marketplace, ensuring alignment with company objectives and global standards.
Translate strategic sustainability goals into actionable initiatives with measurable KPIs and milestones.
Set and track ESG targets; lead annual sustainability reporting and performance reviews.
Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability regulations and frameworks by managing disclosures, audits, and investor or customer due diligence requirements.
Lead the measurement and reduction of the company’s environmental footprint across Scope 1–3 emissions.
Collaborate with product and operations teams to embed sustainability principles into platform offerings and vendor practices.
Support responsible sourcing by contributing to basic supply chain due diligence across environmental and social dimensions.
Build dashboards and processes to collect, track, and report ESG data across the platform.
Act as the go-to sustainability expert within the marketplace, providing guidance and cross-functional support.
Facilitate internal awareness and training on sustainability goals, practices, and responsibilities.
Contribute to sustainability storytelling, customer-facing content, and relevant industry initiatives.
Our Key Role Requirements
8+ years of relevant experience in sustainability or ESG roles
Strong environmental background, with fluency in key frameworks (GHG Protocol, SBTi, etc.).
Solid understanding of ESG reporting regulations and disclosure standards (e.g. CSRD, ESRS, GRI, TCFD).
Proven experience leading cross-functional sustainability initiatives.
Strategic thinker with ability to translate big ideas into practical programs.
Strong analytical and data fluency, able to define KPIs, interpret metrics, and manage reporting processes.
Excellent stakeholder management (internal and external).
Clear communicator, capable of translating technical topics into actionable business outcomes.
Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and comfortable with ambiguity.
Comfortable navigating change, with the patience and influence needed to embed sustainability over time.
Preferred: Experience in a marketplace or tech platform business and a passion for mobility innovation or green technology.
