About the role

 

The UK Supplier Management Office (SMO) is responsible for the management of the end-to-end Third Party life cycle for Capital One in the UK, including sourcing, contracting, ongoing supplier and relationship management, and offboarding activities.

The team serves as trusted advisors enabling and safeguarding our supply chain and empowering the business to realise value and innovation from third parties safely, efficiently and cost effectively.

Capital One is seeking a progressive and collaborative Supplier Management leader to shape the development and execution of multiple category strategies and plans for an assigned portfolio of third party relationships. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will understand how your category strategies can help the business execute the overall business goals, whilst also advising and influencing on best practice to ensure a well managed risk approach. 

Leading a high performing and engaged team, you will oversee the full third party management lifecycle for your portfolio of suppliers, including the sourcing, onboarding, ongoing management and onboarding activities. 

What you’ll do

Partner cross functionally to lead the development and execution of category strategies and plans to achieve ambitious business goals

Oversee the entire third party management lifecycle across your portfolio of suppliers, enabling and safeguarding our supply chain and empowering the business to realise value safely, efficiently and cost effectively

Understand your suppliers and the broader market.  Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with key supplier counterparts, executives and internal business stakeholders

Lead, manage and develop the team of Third Party Managers who govern and manage a portfolio of suppliers and the day to day execution of the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) policy 

Ongoing compliance with policies, procedures, laws & regulations in a complex and highly regulated environment 

Provide regular holistic category and third party reporting covering risks, performance, contracts and spend

Partner and lead on contract and commercial negotiations, resolution of performance related issues & escalations, and proactive identification and mitigation of category and third party risks

Support periodic audits, regulatory exams and local / enterprise supply chain initiatives

What you’ll bring

Significant experience and subject matter expertise in Indirect Procurement, Third Party Risk Management and Supplier Relationship Management, ideally within Financial Services or other highly regulated industry

Outstanding communication and relationship building skills

Ability to influence and persuade senior executives, partner and collaborate across cross-functional teams

Outstanding business judgment and leadership on contract and commercial issues

Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain focused and flexible in a changing environment

Demonstrable autonomy and drive to operate independently when required, bringing clear thinking and reasoning in the decision making process

Strong analytical skills with the ability to challenge the status quo

A focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team environment

Track record of leading and managing people and delivering results through others

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office.  

We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home. 

We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in one of our offices 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
