We are seeking for exceptional leader to spearhead our life and health structured solution business in China. In this role, you will develop and implement business strategies, overseeing the entire lifecycle of the business from origination to execution. This encompasses business development, structuring, pricing, negotiation, approval, transaction execution, and ongoing monitoring of structured solutions.

As an integral member of a wider group of APAC, Middle East and Africa structured solutions experts, you will be expected to collaborate with colleagues across markets to share and acquire solutions, and exchange resources to drive business expansion

The position is based in Beijing, reports to CEO Life & Health Greater China and dotted-line reports to Head of Structured Solutions, Life & Health Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.

YOUR ROLE

Business Generation: Maintain a thorough understanding of market trends, changes, and emerging issues, and proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering and expanding relationships with clients to promote Munich Re as a premier reinsurer for structured solutions in ChinaClient Engagement and Contract Negotiation: Lead client engagements and proactively address their requests, concerns, and questions. Present customized solutions to potential clients and negotiate commercial and contractual terms to achieve mutually beneficial agreements. Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight to the local structured solutions team, ensuring the preparation of high-quality marketing materials, solution propositions, pricing, treaty wordings, risk analyses, and submission documents for deal-making. Additionally, monitor the performance and facilitate reporting of existing treaties. Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, collaborating closely with the regional structured solutions team to ensure seamless engagement. Team leadership and development: Lead and manage a high-performing team, providing development opportunities, mentorship, and guidance to support team members' professional growth and achieve business objectives.

                                                                       

YOUR PROFILE

Qualified actuary (FSA, FIA, FIAA or equivalent) with 15+ years in insurance or reinsurance industry.Demonstrated expertise in actuarial science, accounting, finance, and insurance regulations, with a deep understanding of the Life & Health insurance and reinsurance market in China. Specialized knowledge of CROSS, CGAAP, and IFRS 17 is required, with desirable experiences in financial reinsurance and structured solutions.Proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong relationships within the Chinese insurance market, with a strong focus on driving business growth and expansion through strategic relationships and effective communication. Experience in client management and/or business development is highly valued, with an emphasis on developing and executing business strategies that drive growth and profitability.Self-motivated, open-minded with strong problem-solving skills, combined with a desire to identify and implement solutions that drive business growth and expansion.Proven leadership and management abilities, with a strong track record of developing and guiding high-performing team, and a demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve exceptional results.Proficient in Mandarin and English
