Role: Head of Strategic New Business Development
Location: Remote (must live in the UK)
As Royal Mail continues its transformation journey, we are now looking to recruit to a new and pivotal role in Strategic Business Development
As our Head of Strategic New Business Development, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic business development plan that drives sustainable revenue growth, market expansion, and high-value customer acquisition.
You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering a robust business development strategy, leading cross-functional teams to win key commercial opportunities, and engaging at Board level to influence strategic outcomes. Ensuring all RM Brands are front and centre to prospective customers and RM Group is positioned as the go to carrier of choice.
Key responsibilities
• Creating and executing a rolling strategic business development plan
• Driving cross-business collaboration to win major commercial deals
• Leading high-impact sector and market growth initiatives
• Influencing C-suite stakeholders and managing executive engagement
• Securing new revenues from high-value and underperforming sectors
• Overseeing sales performance tracking and recognition
Skills & Experience
• Proven success in strategic business growth and complex negotiations
• Experience leading complex cross-functional teams
• Outstanding influencing skills at all levels
• A proactive, innovative mindset with strong strategic vision
• Experience leading Business Development initiatives and revenue generation, ideally in an ecommerce, logistics or similar sector
• Comfortable taking calculated risks and challenging the status quo combines strategic vision with robust and pragmatic implementation
• Commercially astute with a good understanding of ecommerce market dynamics
