Your New Role…

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) / HBO Max is on the lookout for a senior creative and hands-on Head of Scripted, Nordics to help commission, shape and deliver standout original series across the region. This role is perfect for a seasoned storyteller with a strong background in development and production, and a passion for bringing bold, local stories to life.

You’ll work closely with the GVP of Original Production, local content leads across the Nordics, and teams across the business as a true team player to build a compelling slate of Nordic originals. Together with the team, you’ll ensure that HBO Max scripted originals are of the highest possible quality, reach the widest possible audience, and ensure long-term potential.

Your Role Accountabilities…

Creative Development, Storytelling & Production

Lead the journey of scripted series from early concept to final cut, guiding projects through every stage—balancing creative vision with production realities.

Review and assess ideas, treatments, and scripts with a sharp editorial eye, helping to identify and champion projects with strong creative and market potential, and supporting greenlight decisions and pulling together creative materials and internal documentation.

Plan and manage development and production pipelines for local originals.

Collaborate with writers, directors, producers, and showrunners to shape standout stories and solve creative challenges, providing constructive and thoughtful feedback on scripts, casting, dailies, and cuts.

Support in exploring for potential funding and discount schemes.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Collaborate with the production company to establish key schedules and workflows, while maximizing budget efficiency to ensure as much as possible ends up on screen.

Collaborate with and take input from internal stakeholders, including Local Content leads, Nordic GVP Content, Global Content Team, CS&A, working closely with teams across Content/Production, Strategy, Finance, Legal, PR/Comms, Marketing, Streaming Planning, and Creative Services to inform and ensure alignment.

Brief Legal and Finance on contracts and budgets; track deal progress.

Collaborate with PR and Marketing on positioning and campaign materials, and with WBD/HBO Max Ops on formats, deliverables, and platform needs.

Partner with CSR teams to support inclusive and representative storytelling.

Qualifications & Experience…

Proven experience in scripted development and production—ideally with a streamer, broadcaster, or production company.

A strong track record as a producer of TV series or films, with deep experience in both development and execution.

A solid understanding of the Nordic creative landscape.

Fluency in at least one Nordic language and Fluent in English.

Strong presentation skills.

Excellent editorial instincts and a love for great storytelling.

Confidence working with creative talent and managing complex productions.

Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
