About the Role
As the Head of Safety, Quality and Environment, you will be responsible for leading and driving operational excellence in safety, quality, and environmental management within KONE. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with global standards, fostering a proactive safety culture, enhancing quality performance, and integrating sustainable practices. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can implement, improve, and manage frameworks that align with KONE’s commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will span safety management, quality assurance, and environmental sustainability, ensuring that all practices support KONE's objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer satisfaction goals. You will work closely with global, area, and unit leadership teams to develop and maintain robust policies and initiatives that minimize risk, improve performance, and enhance operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Implement, maintain, and enhance KONE’s safety management system to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
Establish safety objectives, roles, and responsibilities while driving a strong safety culture through leadership and engagement.
Lead committees and forums, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote a proactive safety-first mindset.
Develop and oversee crisis and emergency response plans, ensuring preparedness for potential incidents.
Manage incident investigations, audits, and risk assessments, continuously improving processes to prevent accidents and enhance workplace safety.
Drive quality strategies aligned with KONE’s vision, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Oversee quality performance metrics, identifying key improvement areas and driving initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
Conduct audits, corrective actions, and quality assurance programs to minimize operational inefficiencies and optimize processes.
Promote accountability across teams, ensuring alignment with global standards and best practices in quality and safety management.
Develop and implement environmental management strategies that align with KONE’s sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and report on environmental impact, driving initiatives to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency, and support carbon reduction efforts.
Engage stakeholders to enhance awareness and adoption of safety, quality, and environmental best practices.
Act as a role model, demonstrating ownership of safety, quality, and environmental leadership principles.
Work cross-functionally with global teams, unit managers, and external stakeholders to drive collaboration and strategic initiatives.
Conduct training and development programs to enhance organizational competencies in safety, quality, and environmental management.
Continuously assess industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to improve operations and maintain compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
M.Sc. or Bachelor's degree in related fields
Holding a Class A certificate
An advanced level of English, both written and verbal
Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to drive performance, implement change, and foster a proactive safety culture
Recognized professional qualification in safety with expertise in risk assessment, audits, and compliance
Experience in incident management, process improvement, and Lean Six Sigma
Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental sustainability, and quality assurance strategies
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Cross-cultural communication and training capabilities
Ability to work effectively in digital and mobile environments
High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to continuous improvement
