We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Head of Reporting and Delivery.
Role purpose
HSBC are accelerating plans to transform, building on agility, innovation, and customer centricity as we become a bank fit for the future. This role is part of the HSBC Life’s Actuarial Department. The team focuses on ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, implementing effective controls, and enhancing processes to meet regulatory requirements. The ultimate goal is to drive improvements in HSBC's financial reporting accuracy and contribute to operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction in order to meet agreed objectives and key results.
The primary accountability of this role is to drive the overall financial reporting strategy and activity by planning, managing, implementing, and monitoring innovative reporting initiatives across all financial segments and regulatory requirements. In addition, this role will also: a. lead and oversee the IFRS17 and HKRBC reporting processes b. lead and oversee the cross-functional reporting services team focused on a mix of reporting planning, performance, and insight
Geographical Remit: Hong Kong
The role holder is accountable to the Chief Actuary, and charged with leading a team of 24 driving the financial reporting strategy plan and programmes. This includes senior stakeholders management, and execution in support of the financial reporting objectives and regulatory compliance efforts.
The role holder will deliver this through financial reporting processes using process enhancements, control implementations, and stakeholder engagement to deliver the targets strategic objectives as determined by the financial reporting requirements and local regulatory challenges.
The role holder must support achievement of the HSBC vision, values, goals, and culture in personal behaviour, actions, and decision making.
Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders
Business Accountabilities:
Drive the overall financial reporting strategy and activity.Plan, manage, implement, and monitor innovative reporting initiatives.Ensure accurate and timely production of IFRS17 and HKRBC reports.Implement effective controls to minimise errors in reporting processes.Identify and execute process enhancements to reduce manual workarounds.Customer Accountabilities:
Collaborate with the Head of Corporate Actuarial to explain financial results.Support the Chief Actuary and CFO in governance committees and ad-hoc projects.Address and resolve enquiries from regulators satisfactorily.Stakeholder Accountabilities:
