We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of RC Surveillance CoE

Business: Risk and Compliance

This is a senior leadership role within the RC CoE and the role holder will be responsible for directing the RC Surveillance CoE teams on a global basis. The RC Surveillance CoE teams specialises in Trade and Communication Surveillance detecting potential examples of market abuse scenarios within the bank for further investigation and referral to relevant risk stewards. The role will be responsible for the RC Surveillance CoE strategy and execution of all activities within the scope of the CoE working closely with the Group Head of Surveillance and Global Head of RC Services to ensure the timely execution and quality of service outcomes within agreed targets.

Additionally, the role holder will:

Support the wider RC CoE teams in their location acting as an overall RC team site lead. This will include driving performance (including financial aspects), standards, people development and management of local risks, issues and challenges.

Partner with the Risk Compliance CoE Site Lead to contribute and execute on the agreed Risk Compliance Shared Services objectives.

Principal responsibilities

Managing the RC Surveillance CoE team on a global basis effectively to ensure service standards are met with acceptable quality assurance outcomes and availability of suitably trained colleagues. This includes recruitment and team resource and dynamic capacity planning.

Drive the design and implementation of a target operating model for the RC Surveillance CoE.

Represent the RC Surveillance CoE teams in required forums and committees informing and influencing the decision making of senior leaders to enable achievement of the required strategic outcomes.

Lead the robust management of the services control environment including quality control, audit findings / management actions and MSIIs.

Ensure strong collaboration and partnership with the Group Head of Surveillance, Global Head of RC Services, Regional Heads of Surveillance, Surveillance Product Management Leads and RC CoE Site Leads.

Provide leadership and execution around the strategy and design of the services both now and in the future.

Drive the services agenda to migrate further activities into the function to ensure RC operates increasingly effectively and efficiently and can deliver HSBC's strategic goals.

Collaborate with colleagues across the matrix to bring innovation and technology to the forefront to deliver tangible financial and non-financial benefits.

Create and embed the wider RC CoE purpose, vision and values, to inspire and engage people to create an accountable, inclusive, high performing and execution-centric culture.

Ensure effective communication of strategy, objectives and priorities across the team.

Develop and motivate an effective team through communication, performance management, development and succession plan to cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the RC and HSBC brand and improves employee engagement.

Driving and encouraging constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork through collaboration and matrix management.
