Position Summary
The Head of KBS Record to Report and Business Controlling drives the KONE Business Services R2R scope, performance, and value contribution towards the KONE Financial Controlling vision. This role leads KBS R2R operations in a matrix setup, ensuring efficiency, timeliness, quality of financial reporting, and user experience, especially during time critical activities such as Period End Closing. For R2R operations in the KBS Areas this role defines the operating frame in terms of global process design, controls, compliance, KPI design etc.The position is also directly responsible for deploying the R2R development pipeline (co-designed with the R2R Global Process Owner), ensuring continuous improvement, and strengthening team capabilities to meet both internal and external financial standards, compliance, and internal controls. The role collaborates closely with KONE Financial Controlling and Business Controlling leadership (Global and Area) to design and implement future-proof operating models and lead subsequent transformation initiatives.The Head of KBS R2R is a key member in the global KONE Business Services leadership team driving KONE’s scalable productivity powerhouse and contributing to making KONE the easiest company to work for. This role collaborates with the KBS Area leadership in ensuring best possible business partnering with KONE Areas unit Frontlines/Units.Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Lead the R2R and Business Controlling functions, ensuring financial transactions, policies, and processes are executed effectively and consistently across KBS.Performance Management: Ensure performance measurement in terms of desired outcomes (efficiency, timeliness, quality of the balance sheet, and user experience). Strong focus on reliable period-end closing processes. Drive escalation resolution for major incidents.Financial Reporting: Ensure complete, accurate, and timely preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow) with meaningful analysis and insights.Process & Development Pipeline: Drive the deployment of the R2R development roadmap in alignment with the R2R GPO, embedding continuous improvement across KBS operations.Compliance & Controls: Safeguard compliance with KONE’s Financial Control Model, accounting standards, regulatory frameworks, and internal control requirements.Future Operating Models: Partner with Financial Controlling & Business Controlling leadership to design, implement, and embed future-ready operating models and transformation programs.Team Development: Build and continuously strengthen R2R team capability, driving engagement, professional growth, and a high-performance culture (both captive inhouse as well as outsourced).Collaboration: Actively work across global, matrixed teams to align on best practices, standardization, and evolving business requirements.Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA) strongly preferred.Ability to vision and communicate the big picture and contribution to business benefits to all stakeholdersStrong leadership, business mindset, ability to partner with Business/FunctionsGood collaboration skills in a matrix and multifunctional set-upAbility to identify priorities and make timely decisions, also under pressurePerseverance in making plans actually happen, effective/ needed follow-upTurn ideas/issues into actionWhat We Offer
