We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Head of Pricing and ORSO.

Role purpose

The role is to head the Individual Life Pricing Function as well as the ORSO team of the Chief Product and Inforce Office. The Head of Pricing and ORSO is responsible for leading the pricing strategy and execution for the company's individual life insurance products, as well as overall business management of ORSO schemes of HSBC Life (International).

Pricing leadership and management involves developing pricing models, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (especially Actuarial, Distribution, Customer, Business Strategy, governance functions) to optimize product offerings and overall financial targets. The team is expected to provide optimal and forward looking product pricing solutions with considerations of customer values, business strategy and impacts of upcoming regulatory and accounting changes. The roleholder will also liaise with Global functions for approvals of new product pricing and defining relevant frameworks.

Business management of ORSO includes defining a clear pricing strategy to ensure long term profitability and growth, and works closely with Operations, Pensions, Distribution and governance functions among others to ensure a sustainable and complaint ORSO business. Close collaboration with Operations is expected given their responsibilities in administering ORSO schemes and servicing customers

Support to Chief Product and Inforce Officer in various management initiatives is also required.

The role holder must support achievement of the HSBC vision, values, goals and culture in personal behavior, actions and decision making.

Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders

Lead the team to work closely with business, Group and external partners to develop and execute integrated pricing strategies for individual life products and ORSO to support NB CSM/long term PBT maximization and market/wallet share, in alignment with the broader Business strategy.Ensure that all pricing end-to-end processes are in place and reengineer process gaps when necessaryProvide expert pricing advice to Chief Product and Inforce Officer and the broader business in defining ‘optimal pricing balance’ between profitability, competitiveness and risksLiaise with Global teams (esp. Products and Risk) for approvals of new product pricingReview profitability of product and ORSO portfolio, and provide recommendations to Chief Product and Inforce OfficerBe external focused to ensure our pricing reflects latest market conditions and competitive landscapeSupport the development of product/ORSO design, product/ORSO positioning, competitive analysis and sales incentive design in order to meet the company’s strategic and business plan
