Head of Performance & Rewards Africa

About the job

As part of the overall Reward and Performance team, you will manage the Compensation and Benefits function for all your MCO activities (Commercial, Scientific, Manufacturing & Supply and Support Functions) in close connection with our business challenges and our culture.  

Your role is critical in maintaining the fairness and competitiveness of our Reward and Performance programs to attract, motivate and retain talent within our organization. 

You define and implement an innovative and effective remuneration and benefits policy for Africa, integrating regional and global programs as well as the organizational and legal local specificities. 

You will lead the development and local implementation of Rewards and performance processes and programs, as well supporting People and Culture Directors, Managers, and employees.

Main responsibilities:

 

Build the rewards & performance and benefits agenda in line with business priorities, People and Culture local agenda, and legislative developments in designated geographical area. 

Define and implement compensation and benefits policy in the different entities and sites, in line with global strategy.

Know and follow the external market/trends to propose relevant and creative solutions: compensation surveys, competitiveness analyses, salary budget.

Ensure the monitoring and compliance of remuneration policies with applicable laws and regulations. 

Support on building the labour relations on Reward topics (Unions communication, annual negotiations) and actively participate in the facilitation of meetings. 

Deploy the global & local communications for MCO employees.  

Participate in global projects. 

Lead and develop the Reward and Performance local team.

Perform any ad hoc duties that are commensurate with job level.

Performance Management:

Lead the Performance Management process in the country in alignment with corporate deadlines

Train managers and employees on Sanofi performance management (PM)systems.

Support managers to rigorously apply PM and ensure effective implementation of performance improvement process eg implementation of a new behavioral competency framework and 360-degree feedback process

About you

Relevant bachelor’s qualification.

Minimum of 7 years of HR leadership experience in international organisation/s.

Solid Performance & Rewards experience with strong understanding of the African markets.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to build working relationships at all levels of the organization.

Ability & readiness to represent Sanofi people agenda externally with strong connections to the external environment. 

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven people decisions in aid of attraction & retention imperatives.

Demonstrated growth mindset.

Influencing abilities and experience with matrix organisational structures.

Fluency in English is a must, French will be a plus
