The Performance and Reward (PR) team provide technical expertise to guide HSBC’s approach to performance management, compensation, mobility, pensions, benefits, deferred reward and recognition. The Head of PR US leads the PR strategy and delivery for the US market. The role holder brings thought leadership and advice, maintaining alignment with Group PR strategy and incorporating US regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Provide strategic guidance, thought leadership, constructive challenge, and technical consultancy on all PR matters, including performance management, compensation (including for senior executives), deferred reward and employee pensions, benefits and wellbeing to support the Group’s strategic objectives and business/geographical priorities
Manage relationships with key stakeholders including the US Board, US CEO and members of the US Operating Committee
Maintain alignment between the Group, Global and Geographical/Business performance and reward strategies and incorporate local regulatory requirements
Maintain expert specialist knowledge by keeping abreast of published materials, competitor practice, external market developments and trends and legislative and regulatory developments
Ensure HSBC delivers on all respective regulatory commitments in the US. Support global regulatory requirements where they relate to the US
Design US benefits frameworks, policies and administration within the overall Group Benefits framework, including pension plan management
Manage the annual pay review for the US market, including funding cascade, fixed pay review, MRT identification and senior stakeholder support
Lead PR related agenda items at the relevant subsidiary remuneration committee, presenting agenda items as required and following through on agreed actions
Lead the implementation of PR specialist interventions and projects in the US, providing guidance and support to the People function to ensure delivery of People and business objectives
Ensure compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution of issues that arise
Drive the definition and embedding of People policy and governance frameworks across the US to ensure effective risk management and regulatory compliance
Provide direction and guidance on incorporating risk and compliance and behavior aspects into performance and reward decisions
Ensure all legal, tax and current remuneration regulations are met in the US, liaising with regulators on all compensation and benefits matters, as appropriate
Lead, develop and motivate a team of professionals to attract, retain and develop the capacity, capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of business objectives
Lead and/or contribute to global PR and US People initiatives and projects
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $230,000.00 and $280,000.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
