Head of Paid and Organic Search Optimization

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a head of paid and organic search optimization who will focus on AI's impacts to the rapidly evolving search landscape. This enterprise role is responsible for developing strategies that account for changing economic models in paid search, organic search, aggregators and affiliates. This position will lead a center of excellence that recommends strategies and tactics that Wells Fargo can use as the industry transitions from purely search engine optimization (SEO) to answer engine optimization (AEO) and as paid search evolves to include players beyond Google/Bing and to appear next to large language model (LLM) generated content.

Key areas of focus include:

- Developing perspectives on the use of AI to further enable efficiency and effectiveness of channels managed within this team for the enterprise.

- Recommending strategies and tactics that Wells Fargo can use as answer engines become increasingly preferred by consumers.

- Partner with enterprise public relations teams to establish effective practices.

- Partner with industry experts to prepare for changing economic models in search, aggregators, and affiliates

- Oversee brand safety considerations specific to the evolution of the search environment

- Oversee horizontal cross-line-of-business customer-focused paid search efforts

- Partner with lines of business to develop multi-year strategies and roadmaps for paid and organic search capabilities


In this role, you will:

Lead and develop more experienced management and cross-functional teams with focus on delivering strategies, plans and implementation of customer centric programs, services and projects for cross business function that has a profound impact on business lines and the enterpriseIdentify opportunities and strategies to improve customer experiencesDevelop sophisticated audience targeting, optimized customer engagement, insights or operational excellence that improve business outcomesLead marketing team by making strategic decisions to resolve, assess and mitigate vendor operational risk to meet and achieve business or performance deliverablesInterpret and develop legal, compliance, and privacy regulations and policies for managing risk and proactively driving digital operational excellenceCollaborate with and influence leaders, vendor relationships and internal or external business groupsLead a team of experienced managers and cross-functional or virtual teamsManage allocation of people and financial resources for MarketingDevelop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

8+ years of Marketing, Digital Marketing, Digital Platforms, or Social Media experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education4+ years of management or leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

5+ years of Marketing Channels strategy and governance experienceExperience with Artificial Intelligence and/or Search Engine strategiesExperience partnering with Digital and Marketing Technology in an Agile product operating modelAt-scale Financial Institution experience strongly desiredManagement consulting, or experience as a business leader tasked to drive value preferredStrong understanding of Consumer LOBs including what drives business valueClear track record of partnering with business stakeholders to co-develop priorities and build operating models that elicit trustStrong people leader with proven experience building, leading, and engaging high-performing, diverse, and inclusive teams.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
