As the Head of North America EHS Governance & Services, you will provide leadership in health, safety, and environmental internal and external regulations to ensure a safe working environment and license to operate for all of our Agricultural Solutions business in North America. You will create, drive, coordinate, and support EHS programs, management systems, and related EHS sustainability efforts within the entire Agricultural Solutions organization in North America. Additionally, you will lead a team of EHS professionals located throughout North America to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of BASF’s and Agricultural Solutions’ EHS programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with legal and BASF/Agricultural Solutions internal requirements at all Agricultural Solutions sites and for all employees in North America. **As a Head of North America EHS Governance & Services, you create chemistry by...** + Steering the Agricultural Solutions NA EHS management system, including the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS governance and services for the entire Agricultural Solutions organization in North America. + Supporting and guiding regional Agricultural Solutions management on all EHS-related topics while aligning with them on EHS priorities. + Leading the regional NA Agricultural Solutions EHS team, which includes operational leadership, resource planning, knowledge management, and the development of employees and the organization. + Functionally leading all site-specific EHS resources within Agricultural Solutions in North America to ensure alignment and effectiveness. + Ensuring compliance with Responsible Care, local legal standards, and other EHS-related BASF/Agricultural Solutions internal standards at Agricultural Solutions sites, contract manufacturers, suppliers, and warehouses within the NA region. + Driving and continuously improving a One Agricultural Solutions EHS culture in North America by developing and implementing regional programs to foster this culture and encourage ongoing EHS improvement. + Ensuring proactive alignment with functional units and competency centers to stay ahead of upcoming regulatory changes, evaluating their impact on Agricultural Solutions, and developing respective measures. + Identifying and exchanging best practices within the NA Agricultural Solutions EHS community and developing and reporting on EHS KPIs to drive improvements in EHS management and performance. **If you...** + Hold a B.S. or preferably an M.S. degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related EHS discipline. + Possess over 10 years of professional EHS experience, with an emphasis on driving change to improve EHS performance through the implementation of sustainable EHS management systems. + Have previous leadership experience and people management skills to develop and deploy talent, with experience in helping individuals manage change effectively and adopt new ways of working. + Bring experience in safety, including behavior-based safety, process safety, industrial hygiene, biosafety, and multimedia environmental programs, and their impact on overall EHS performance. + Exhibit familiarity with U.S. and Canadian EHS regulations. + Demonstrate negotiating, influencing, and communication skills when engaging with diverse stakeholders. + Know how to develop practical plans to implement EHS policies and procedures for sites of various natures (chemical plants, farms, labs). + Have knowledge and experience in Responsible Care, preferably applied to multiple locations of various sizes. + Are able to travel up to 25%, domestically and internationally. **Create your own chemistry with you@BASF** At BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
