Job Overview

The Sec & Derivat Sr. Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations – Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to facilitate the clearance, settlement and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a strategic partner with other businesses as well as an analytical and/or procedural expert in the settlement cycle while supporting a wide range of internal and external clientsAssist with short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources, and exercises control over resources, budget, policy formulation and planningManage complex and variable settlement related issues, liaise with multiple teams and departments on varying matters, define problems, develop innovative solutions, streamline processes and lead change-the-bank settlement projectsClosely follow trends in the industry, identify cost savings opportunities and build effective relationships with clients and key stakeholdersIncrease productivity and efficiencies by presenting data and analyzing validates to develop added solutions and oversee the integrity of process, operations and end resultsAssist with overseeing the risk control environment, compliance efforts to follow policies and procedures and keep abreast of Citi's operational processes and best practices in business strategyServe as an advisor and coach to new or junior level staff on procedures and work processes across multiple departmentsAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant experienceSenior to advanced level experience in a related role preferredSubject matter expert in one or more areas of functionDemonstrated analytical skillsProven ability to manage various concurrent activities/projects in a high-risk environmentEffective project management and negotiation skillsConsistently demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster’s degree preferred

The role resides within the NAM Commodities Operations team based in Houston, who are responsible for supporting and partnering with the Commodities Business across the full suite of their activities.

The Commodities Business transacts high volumes across various different markets. This Senior Vice President position is responsible for overseeing the NAM Operations teams, as well as assisting in the growth of the physical business and enhancing the operations support model.

We require an individual with a strong understanding of how to risk manage commodity deals, innovate and drive change across an organization. You'll act as a strategic partner with all potential stakeholders in onboarding new and complex commodities transactions, ensuring procedures are properly embedded, supported and risk managed on an ongoing basis.

We need a strong communicator who can present ideas and solutions to senior audiences and governance forums, as well as serve as an analytical and procedural expert in the full trade life cycle while supporting a wide range of internal and external clients.

We require an individual who is adept at communicating with control partners such as IA, ICRM and other second line of defense teams. You will assist with overseeing the risk control environment, compliance efforts to follow policies and procedures and keep abreast of Citi's operational processes and best practices in business strategy.

We also require someone with exceptional demonstrated leadership and people management abilities who has successfully managed high performing teams.
