**JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES:**
1. Leading medical team / nutrition science experts to support the affiliate’s commercial operations for the full range of products (sold through three different routes: ethical (doctors), digital (direct to consumer) and consumer (in stores) in Japan.
2. Responsible for the overall business support including brand support to all products marketed – includes scientific content, content creation and approval, new product launches, competitor product profiling, sales force and marketing training, product positioning, compliance to international policies, objection handling from HCPs, Japan compliance program and infant milk substitute Act.
3. Responsible for KOL engagement strategy, management and maintenance, all HCP education programs and doctor group meetings.
4. Leading medical / nutrition education programmes for healthcare professionals, nutritionist-dieticians and the nursing community – to create believers in nutrition science and thereby help shape and expand the nutrition market in Japan.
5. Responsible for regulatory support to create adequate and acceptable scientific substantiation documents for legal and regulatory purposes, including product registration, inquiries, and challenges on product claims from regulatory bodies, government agencies and healthcare professionals.
6. Responsible for providing insights that will help in the development, identification, and designing of new products with claims relevant to the therapy area. This includes support in product profiling, competitor mapping, competitor profiling, target product profile, nutrition and medical safety and external engagement. Responsible for customisation of global product portfolio considered for Japan launch as per market needs.
7. Responsible for managing investigator-sponsored studies and other research projects in terms of communicating, liaising, assessing and coordinating the study and feasibility with the study team and provide support in executing the clinical study from sponsor’s perspective where appropriate.
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS:**
_Skill, Education, Experience_
• MD or pharmacy background preferred. Nutritionist-dietician background acceptable as well.
• At least 5 years of working experience in a medical affairs function in a nutrition or pharmaceutical industry setting.
• Experience in medical-marketing and / or clinical study operations is preferred.
