Head of Legal & Compliance - Czechia and Slovakia
The Head of Legal & Complience will work as a part of the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) legal and compliance team, providing commercially oriented legal and compliance advice and leadership for both non-contentious and contentious matters across all Aon's solution lines and Aon functional leadership in Czechia and Slovakia. This role will report into the Head of Legal and Compliance, Central Eastern Europe. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from the Prague office. What the day will look like + Provide legal and compliance services to all Aon business in Czech and Slovakia including proactive legal advice and assistance on all contentious and non-contentious matters + Draft and review legal documentation (including but not limited to agreements with clients, insurers, suppliers, third parties and correspondence with regulators). + Implement and ensure consistent use of "best practice" Aon standard agreements and Law Division as well as other Aon policies. + Advise on product development and legal documentation supporting new services and products. + Partner with the business on client related issues such as tenders, submissions and relevant developments in law. + Actively assisting to prevent Errors and Omissions through training, reporting and appropriate contracting. Manage E&O claims in consultation with the EMEA Head of Litigation and where appropriate EMEA Chief Counsel. + Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations and effective communication with local regulators in consultation with the Head of Head of Legal and Compliance, CEE and the wider EMEA Compliance team. + Increase awareness of legal, compliance and regulatory issues with business colleagues generally and gain a "trusted advisor" role with senior leadership and regional management. + Responsible for working in accordance with Aon policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of required training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group company. + Ensure a close, collaborative and constructive relationship with business colleagues and shared service functions, ensuring an Aon United approach Skills and experience that will lead to success + Qualified legal practitioner; qualified in Czechia + Experience working as an in-house lawyer in a multinational organisation or an associate in a reputable law firm + Experience gained within the insurance, insurance broking or other regulated financial services sectors + Strong background in commercial contracting, corporate matters and preferably insurance (mediation) law + A background in Slovak law or prior experience working within the Slovak jurisdiction is highly desirable + Experience with international Corporate Compliance programs + Fluent Czech, English and Slovak languages are a must How we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce.
