Job Description Are you a seasoned legal professional with a passion for the maritime and logistics industry? A rapidly expanding international shipping group is looking for a Head of Legal to lead and manage the legal and compliance functions across its regional operations.


The Opportunity:
This is a rare opportunity to take on a broad and strategic legal leadership role within a dynamic maritime environment. You will provide legal and commercial advice on a wide range of issues, from contract negotiations to cross-border transactions, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Advise on matters of maritime law, commercial law, and cross-border compliance. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (NDAs, service/vendor contracts, JVAs, SPAs, SHAs, etc). Support strategic investments, M&A, and joint ventures across Asia and the Middle East. Partner with business stakeholders to assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risks. Oversee legal due diligence and provide practical solutions to support commercial decision-making. Lead corporate governance and compliance initiatives, including policy development and training. Manage external counsel and support contract management and record-keeping processes. Participate in board-related matters, including drafting resolutions and maintaining minutes. Ideal Candidate:
Degree in Maritime Law or equivalent. Relevant legal experience, preferably in an in-house counsel role. Strong understanding of the shipping, logistics, or commodities sector. Proven experience in M&A, corporate advisory, and contract negotiation. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-border environment with diverse stakeholders.
