Your role in our shared journey 

Located at our EMEA headquarters in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam, you'll contribute to our mission by leading the Group Financial Control function and managing EMEA group reporting to ASICS HQ in Japan. As Head of Group Financial Control, you will oversee period-end closing processes, coordinate with external auditors, lead a team of 17 professionals, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the organization, whilst ensuring compliance with group policies and financial reporting requirements. 

  

 

Your key responsibilities will be: 

• Manage and supervise all EMEA group financial reporting processes to ASICS headquarters in Japan, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 
 
• Lead a team of 17 finance professionals, providing guidance, setting objectives and monitoring performance whilst fostering professional development. 
 
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors, coordinating group audits, statutory audits and quarterly reviews. 
 
• Oversee period-end closing procedures and ensure compliance with local financial legislation across the EMEA region. 
 
• Partner with diverse departments including Business Control, Commercial Team, Tax and Treasury to facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration. 
 
• Handle the submission and verification of audited financial statements whilst maintaining relationships with external stakeholders. 
 
• Manage issue escalation processes and implement solutions to maintain operational efficiency within the finance department. 

 

You have the following skills: 

• Master's degree with relevant professional qualification (RA, ACCA, CPA). 

• Strong financial accounting background with at least 8 years of experience in multinational environments, and IFRS expertise  

• Solid people management experience, with the ability to manage, motivate and grow others. 

• Ability to operate at the detail level as well as focus on the big picture 

• Advanced proficiency in SAP/S4Hana systems and experience with external audits are a plus. 
• Excellent stakeholder management, including a strong command of English and intercultural communication.
