**Overview**
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven **Head of GL and Tax** to lead our accounting and tax operations. This role will have full ownership of the General Ledger, tax compliance (direct and indirect), transfer pricing, and statutory reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of Romanian GAAP, and a proven ability to drive process improvements within a multinational environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Full ownership of the **General Ledger** , ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
+ Oversee **direct and indirect tax compliance** and **transfer pricing** documentation.
+ Manage **monthly, quarterly, and interim statutory reporting** .
+ Coordinate with Finance teams to ensure timely **month-end and year-end close** .
+ Act as the main point of contact for **external auditors** , ensuring timely sign-off of statutory accounts.
+ Review trial balance and P&L transactions to ensure **accuracy and compliance** with local regulations.
+ Prepare and deliver **ad-hoc financial analysis and reports** as needed by management.
+ Drive **process improvements and automation** within the accounting and tax functions.
+ Ensure full adherence to internal control procedures and local accounting standards.
+ Comply with internal policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
**Qualifications**
**Professional Qualifications**
+ Certified Accountant – **CECCAR accreditation** preferred but not required
+ Excellent knowledge of **Romanian GAAP** and **IFRS**
**Experience**
+ **7–10 years of experience** in a similar role, preferably within a multinational environment.
+ Proven track record in **GL management** , tax, statutory reporting, and audits.
**Skills & Competencies**
+ Strong **analytical and problem-solving** skills.
+ Excellent **communication skills** in both English and Romanian (spoken and written).
+ Proficiency in **Microsoft Excel** .
+ Highly **organized and structured** , with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
+ Demonstrated ability to **work independently** and take initiative.
+ Strong focus on **compliance, control, and transparency** .
