Head of Franchise and Marketing - MAPS Beverages
Overview As the Franchise & Marketing Lead for PepsiCo MAPS Beverages, this role leads PepsiCo’s beverage agenda with responsibility for growing sales, share & profit of PepsiCo’s Beverage business in MAPS (Malaysia, Singapore & Pacific Islands). The role directly reports to the General Manager for PepsiCo PHILMAPS (Philippines, Malaysia & Singapore) and is a core member of the PepsiCo PHILMAPS leadership team. This role provides the incumbent a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on PepsiCo’s beverage business in Malaysia, Singapore & Pacific Islands. The ideal candidate for this position will be an established FMCG business leader, results driven, highly motivated, proven thought leader with excellent managerial skills and stamina, who also has the ability and potential to advance into senior leadership positions within PepsiCo. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Lead the development strategic plan for MAPS Beverages Create a Marketing Strategic Plan based on consumer/market-place insights, right to succeed, field feedback and economics in alignment with General Manager, franchise teams and bottling partners Core Brand equity, profile/target and extension strategy, communication strategy Work closely with Category Team, R&D, SRA & local Marketing teams on any new product developments or launches ensuring on time, quality and products that meet local markets needs/compliance Consumer interaction strategy (grass-roots, promotion, sponsorship, presence) AOP Development Develop the marketing AOP for MAPS Bevs & support timely deployment of AOP calendar Develop integrated Marketing & Communication strategy Support local Marketing managers to develop & deploy Promotional Calendars Manage the A&M and D&A budgets for the market and will need to drive optimal spending as well as close tracking/monitoring of all to-date spends. Commercial Execution Ensure alignment with the bottler throughout the JBP/AOP planning processes by articulating our operating strategies, material commitments and KPIs and effectively addressing where to play (brands and channels) and how to win. Work with commercial franchise capability teams to drive strategic priorities and develop and deliver best practices e.g. within Away From Home, Perfect Store and Net Revenue Management. Support commercial contracts securing PepsiCo operating strategies and growth ambition through cross-functional collaboration. Work with Bottler and Franchise Capability teams to identify commercial capability gaps and agree on action plans. Partner to define priority opportunities, access resources, and share learnings and best practices on initiatives implementation Leverage knowhow of the FMCG category & channel landscape to ensure capability solutions are executed. Business Review Drive monthly and quarterly performance management through review sessions and ongoing scorecard tracking and corrective measures discussions including providing clear and concise input on market performance for regional reviews with MUGM and Region CEO. Lead & Leverage Monthly and Quarterly commercial stakeholder and business review meetings with Bottler to track progress & drive / sustain alignment versus the agreed annual plan, developing appropriate governance tools. Lead ongoing competitor tracking and ensure movements are communicated to relevant Qualifications Qualifications 12+ years of FMCG experience in sales & marketing with a proven record of success Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of distilling complex data and project plans into clear, actionable recommendations for senior management and stakeholders. Excellent relationship-building, listening, and influencing skills, with a proactive approach to seeking and understanding diverse inputs to gain broad alignment. Proven cross-functional experience and skills particularly demonstrating financial and marketing literacy, developing strategic storylines and driving insights to action. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams, cross-functional peers, and external stakeholders. Understanding of Brand P&L, Promotion strategy and GTM Models Strong consumer & creative marketing background with strategic thinking and insight orientation Experience with leading teams and working in matrix organizations Differentiating Competencies Strong Leader and able to inspire team. Has leadership and influencing skills Strong communication, analytic, organization and presentation skills. Able to identify and isolate opportunities/issues with action plans in a clear and logical way. Strong presentation skills: able persuade manager and team on plan and thinking. Excellent interpersonal skills (important due to multi-party/external business partners business model) Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects Entrepreneurial Mindset.
