We are seeking a talented individual to join our International FP&A team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, MMC Europe
Reporting to the CFO for MMC Europe, you will lead on FP&A for a $2.5bil portfolio across Marsh and Mercer, working as the head of the MMC Europe FP&A team, and liaising with MMC Europe CFO, MMC Europe CEO, Regional CEOs and Regional FP&A teams globally.
We will count on you to:
Provide leadership to MMC Europe Finance, working closely with the CFO to forge direction and delivery.Be a relied-upon counsel to the European CFO, European CEO and Regional CFOs .Take responsibility for reporting, analysing and explaining Marsh & Mercer Europe financial performanceOwn the budget process for Marsh & Mercer Europe, understanding opportunities and threats and build credible plans to deliver profitable growth in line with targets.Lead the forecasting process for MMC Europe, ensuring an appropriate mix of top-down understanding and client level analytics.Provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management, including the provision of accurate, timely and insightful analyses of key projects in the business unit such as acquisitions, team hires, IT projects etcPartner with Corporate and Global Finance teams to ensure European performance is well understood.Ensure the business receives robust KPIs to run the business, including coordinating the collection of all performance indicators, highlighting trends and analysing causes of variances to budget, forecast and prior year.When needed, present and explain Marsh & Mercer European financial results at management meetings, including an in depth analysis of the revenue walk versus prior year.Prepare all sensitive and confidential analysis as directed by the CEOs or CFOSupport key matrix business (i.e. Affinity, Advisory, Specialties)Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiativesChampion finance transformationPrepare Ex Co presentations, financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, client profitability analysis and other projects requested by senior management.Supervision of Financial AnalystsManage a team of two direct reportsWhat you need to have:
Qualified Accountant, ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, with significant post qualification experience. Significant experience of senor level FP&A, from within financial services, preferably an insurance broking or insurance firmExperience of presenting financial results & forecasts on a regular basis to senior executives, running a business budgeting process and financial analysis to a high level. With strong written & verbal communication skills, strong presentational and analytical skillsFinance change and transformational experience and strong strategic capabilityLeadership of teams and leadership skillsAbility to think creatively, make decisions and solve problems that are general in nature.Be highly-driven and self-motivatedAbility to prioritise and deliver to very strict deadlinesAbility to Ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacityAbility to work independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal skillsExpertise and experience in change and process managementExcellent organisational skillsAdvanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skillsWhat makes you stand out?
