Head of FI & Non-Bank PSPs, Europe

Significant experience at senior leadership level in financial services organisation or equivalent with experience on an international scale:

Detailed knowledge of financial services industry (including history, trends and future development);Ability to manage and respond to feedback on Barclays business performance from investors, financial institutions, regulators and auditors;Ability to maintain and enhance the standing of the Barclays Financial Institutions European business within financial and wider markets.Established and evidenced leadership credentials, including leading through change.

Additional key experiences and knowledge required:

Track record and experience of the Corporate Banking business, building growth with a proven ability to manage complex and relentless changeStrong Banking coverage experience in FIG sector with excellent understanding of product & service offered to all Financial Institutions, including transactional Banking product, Capital Markets, RSG/FX and financing.Knowledge of complex Corporate Banking product suite including Debt, Trade and Working Capital, Cash and transactional products and FX;Broad knowledge of risk management and control and accounting policies and financial control;Understanding the natural of both financial and non-financial risk associate with the sector and the underlying product suite.International experience is a prerequisite.

Shape, develop and execute a strategy to drive major change;Propose the Financial Institutions Europe business strategy to the Global Head of FI and to deliver on the agreed strategy;Drive towards a target operating model and respond to changes in the external environment.

Purpose of the role

To lead, manage and oversee the performance and risk of the Financial Institutions business or Barclays Europe. The Financial Institutions business in Europe spans nine Western European booking centres and benefits from a market leading proposition, centred around our Euro clearing hub located in Frankfurt. The global Financial Institutions business has booking centres in the US, UK, Europe and APAC and Middle East.  

Accountabilities

To be responsible for and accountable to the Head of Corporate Banking, Europe and Global Head of Financial Institutions (FI):

Responsible for profitable performance, growth and future strategy of Financial Institutions business in Europe through leading the coverage team across relevant markets, regions and sectors, working with the respective heads of Investment Banking Coverage, Product, Risk, Operations, Technology and InfrastructureTo focus on the spectrum of needs for Banks, Non-Bank PSPs, Broker Dealer and Specialist Finance customers, based in Europe, with a global remit and footprintLeadership of the Financial Institutions business for Barclays Europe to deliver the Strategy endorsed by the GTC & ICB Manfo in accordance with Barclays Purpose and Values and the accountabilities and responsibilities listed below.Drive client relationships across the Business – working with the other sector leads, Investment Bank, Cards and Payments in conjunction with the ICB Regional Heads and Leadership Team to help develop and monetize the European Financial Institutions client base globally to maximize their use of the Banking product set  - with a focus on the top tier names, ensuring that a high degree of client contact is consistently maintained.

Global Treasury Coverage

Drive client-centric execution by aligning product delivery with client coverage.Enhance returns through targeted cross-sell of treasury products across the lending book Embed consistent planning and performance management across regions and sectors

As a member of the FI Leadership Team, be accountable to the Global Head of FI for supporting the delivery of the financial and operating performance of FI and International Corporate Banking, including profits, client satisfaction, conduct, controls, employee engagement and community relations.
