**Position Overview**
We are searching for a Head of ESG Data to drive and execute on the firm’s ESG data strategy. The role offers a deep engagement with the ESG subject matter experts, technology, reporting and data governance teams with an opportunity to drive impact on high-profile client and regulatory initiatives. This role offers high visibility and direct engagement with senior management and investment professionals.
We are looking for an experienced data specialist with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience managing ESG (inclusive of climate data) sets, and a proven track record of partnering with technology, compliance and front office teams in the application of ESG data in reporting, regulation, research and investing.
The Head of ESG data will serve as the ESG Data Steward and will be part of the firm’s ESG Data Governance Committee with the responsibility of overseeing and managing ESG data quality processes and exceptions. The position requires an understanding of the usage of ESG data in business applications and proprietary scoring models, along with methodologies utilized by third-party vendor ratings. As part of the data function, the Head of ESG Data will be a key contributor to meeting regulatory reporting requirements such as SFDR, TCFD and other ESG-related filings.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Establish and maintain a strong understanding of the firm’s requirements of ESG data.
+ Establish trusted partnerships with the various lines of business providing ESG subject matter expertise related to Neuberger Berman’s research and portfolio management capabilities, as well as the firm’s regulatory and client reporting requirements.
+ Where required, set up Service Level Agreements with business partners ensuring the ESG data sourcing procured meets expectations.
+ Manage the governance activities associated with ensuring the integrity of ESG master data including creating quality control reports and resolving data exceptions and ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
+ Responsible for addressing inquiries into ESG metrics across the firm and at the product level.
+ Timely escalation of issues and resolution to Senior Management.
+ Produce ESG data analysis for regulatory and compliance projects
+ Partner with Technology and Data Governance to onboard and maintain best-in-class ESG data capabilities acting as a subject matter expert around third-party ESG data providers.
+ Maintain an awareness of the ESG data vendor marketplace and competitive landscape in terms of new products and evolving capabilities.
**Key Requirements / Qualifications** (essential unless otherwise stated)
+ Extensive experience with ESG or Sustainable data and ESG regulations such SFDR and TCFD
+ Experience with ESG data vendors
+ Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities.
+ Experience with SQL and/or Snowflake databases, Aladdin and/or Bloomberg systems a plus
+ Experience with ESG Reporting and/or regulatory reporting a plus.
