Overview The Director-Enterprise Architecture will oversee the development and governance of enterprise-wide architectural strategies, ensuring alignment between IT and business goals for new and existing Enterprise Technology platforms. This role leads a team of platform engineers, owns the central Enterprise Architecture function and collaborates with Value Stream architects to define and build new generation platforms and provide an architectural governance model for the company. Maximizing value, minimizing risk and leading transformation of business/digital strategy are key enterprise goals for this position. This role is critical in enabling digital transformation, optimizing IT investments, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and agility of technology platforms that support utility, power and corporate operations. Candidate would have experience defining and implementing complex enterprise architectures across the following key areas: Business Architecture, Data and Information Architecture and Governance, Enterprise Architecture Operating Model, Enterprise Architecture Strategy and Planning, Enterprise IT Governance, Infrastructure and Cloud Architecture, Integration Architecture, Security Architecture, Solution and Application Architecture, Technology and Platforms This position reports to the Sr Dir Enterprise Technology. LI-Hybrid Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Responsible for a $1.5 billion portfolio Develop Point of Views on technology, industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise, and set go forward strategies to move towards the utility of the future vision. Drive innovation by aligning the mindset towards moving from technology driven to business outcome driven architecture Collaborate with Value Stream Enterprise Architects on the creation and/or evolution of the EA function or program. Collaborate with IT and Business leaders to develop digital vision and build the digital strategy Analyze the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement Lead the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to derive enterprise business, information, technical and solution (BITS) architecture requirements Consult with application/infrastructure development projects to fit systems to architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs Understand, advocate and lead the enterprise's information technology strategies Responsible for the development and ongoing support of key architectural solution components Drive the continual development of the architectural runway for each of the value streams Manages and is accountable for driving the development of solution of cross value stream architecture issues Architecture Governance: Establish and maintain architecture principles, frameworks and governance processes. Define standards for solution architecture, integration, and data management across platforms. Drives the development and ongoing facilitation of the enterprise architecture process driving processes like: New Technology Approval Process and Architecture Review Board. Solutions Architecture: Assesses wider industry technology trends (e.g., artificial intelligence, robot process automation, internet of things, cloud, dev ops, microservices etc.) and best practices to identify best-in-class Technology and architecture direction and is responsible for high level architectural design as well as playing a crucial role in identifying new technologies that could affect overall business strategy. Additional responsibilities include: Contribution towards the improvement of the Architecture process Architectural technology standards within their specific discipline Governance of architecture standards Technology strategy Works with various Technology teams to champion the adoption of patterns, platforms, and tools to support the usage and conformity of solution architecture Platform Engineering: Defines and builds the next generation platform to support a myriad of needs from integration to API centralization across all portfolios Leads a team of engineers to build, scale, and adopt common APIs, tools, and systems supporting several other products and portfolios Continues to drive innovation and modern technologies to simplify and streamline effort required to build new capabilities Maintains existing Enterprise Architecture applications and solutions Platform Oversight (SAP & Non-SAP): Oversight of the end-to-end architecture across SAP (S/4HANA, SAP, SAP BTP, SAP CPI) and non-SAP systems Ensure seamless integration between platforms using APIs, middleware and microservices. Guide ERP consolidation and cloud migration strategies. Risk & Compliance: Ensure enterprise architecture complies with cybersecurity, data privacy, and industry regulations Design architecture that is resilient, secure, and supports disaster recovery strategies. Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders in IT, operations, and business. Work with project managers, solution architects, and delivery teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture. Qualifications Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree. Masters degree highly preferred. 10-Year background in delivering scalable, compliant, Enterprise Architecture. SAP landscape knowledge (SAP BTP, S/4HANA, IS-U) and integration with non-SAP systems desirable. Proven experience with cloud platforms, hybrid architecture. Utilities Enterprise Architecture experience/knowledge a plus. Skills & Competencies: Strategic thinking and business acumen. Deep understanding of enterprise integration patterns and middleware tools. Excellent knowledge of utility industry processes and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Familiarity with modern architecture trends.
