About the RoleAs the Director of Drone Maintenance, you will oversee all aspects of drone flight Maintenance, ensuring full compliance with FAA Part 135 regulations and company safety protocols. You will be responsible for managing all aircraft maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of company operated aircraft and articles as assigned in accordance with policies and procedures. You’ll ensure that company operational goals and objectives are met, while guaranteeing all aircraft maintenance documentation is maintained in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals.
You're excited about this opportunity because... Regulatory Compliance: Develop, implement, and oversee drone operations in compliance with FAA Part 135 regulations. Thorough knowledge of the contents of Part 135 documentation and experience with writing and revising General Operations Manual (GOM) and Training Manuals Ensure compliance with all FAA, DOT, and company policies and regulations. Represent the company in regulatory discussions and industry events. Maintenance Management: Lead the Maintenance team through immense scaling Develop and maintain the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) Maintain close contact with the Director of Operations to provide current aircraft status and forecast down times. Oversee training programs for maintenance personnel. Excited to be high touch with the operations team, observing Maintenance from the field Cross-Functional Collaboration & Scaling: Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to enhance fleet reliability and maintainability. Work closely with our commercial operations lead, understanding what the commercial goals are and matching them to our current state of maintenance operations. A&P-IA with experience maintaining aircraft and their maintenance records. FAA Part 135 experience, including leadership in a commercial aviation or UAS environment. Strong understanding of FAA regulations governing maintenance and record keeping under Part 135. Bonus Qualifications Experience with commercial drone delivery operations or UAS integration into logistics networks. Prior involvement in obtaining and maintaining FAA Part 135 certification for UAS operations.
