We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Head of Discretionary and Funds SEA.

Principal Responsibilities

Sales Distribution Strategy

Collaborate closely with distribution, specialists, and relationship management teams to drive product sales, increase client adoption, and grow assets under management (AUM)Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, sales campaigns, and training programs to boost product penetration across retail, affluent, HNW and UHNW segmentsAnalyze client behavior, sales trends, and competitive landscape to inform product positioning and business development plans

Leadership Stakeholder Engagement

Lead and mentor a team of product specialists and product managers, fostering a high-performance cultureRepresent the team in key client meetings, investment committees, product pitches, and industry eventsPartner with marketing, digital, and client experience teams to enhance product visibility and education

Product Portfolio Management

Oversee the strategic development, launch, and lifecycle management of mutual fund products and discretionary portfoliosInvolved in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management processes to deliver consistent performance aligned with client objectivesEnsure adherence to all investment policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards

Requirements

Relevant working experience and deep understanding of Discretionary and Funds business for both retail and private banking Substantial senior-level experience in a similar role Strong Risk and Compliance mindsetStrategic thinking, good business acumen Excellent communication skill including ability to present complex financial concepts and strategiesProactive, independent and enthusiastic personality

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role. HSBC Group reserves its position with regards to any steps which it may take in relation to any material adverse findings which arise either when the checks are originally completed, and/or if relevant, on an ongoing basis.
