We are looking for a Head of Digital Technology for Research and Early Development - Lab Technology & Operations who is highly innovation-driven, inspiring and collaborative to join us in our Digital Technology for Patient Solutions (DTPS) team, based in our office in Braine l’Alleud, Belgium.

 

About the role

You will be leading a team that empowers scientific research through the design and delivery of compliant, secure, and innovative technology solutions that enhance laboratory operations and scientific excellence across Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the United States, ultimately driving better outcomes for patients.

 

Who you’ll work with

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team of IT professionals, solution architects and project managers. Collaborating closely with researchers, lab leads, and global digital partners, you will contribute to transforming how science and technology come together to accelerate research & early development at UCB.

 

What you’ll do

Lead the delivery of digital solutions for research labs across multiple regionsEnsure lab systems comply with regulations and remain Trusted, Secure, Safe and CompliantEnable and automate raw data capture and processing of state-of-the-art lab instruments Shape and drive the DTPS strategy and project portfolio executionManage system lifecycle, support and innovation of all research laboratory applications, including GLP platformsCoach and develop a diverse team of experts and future leaders

 

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

Master’s degree in life sciences, information technology, or a related disciplineOver 10 years’ experience in IT and R&D, ideally with GxP and lab automation exposureProven experience in leading people, managing cross-functional programs, projects and budgetsHands-on knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud storage and compute technologies, and software development best practicesExperience in supporting scientific areas like genomics, imaging or bio/chemistryInspiring leadership style, analytical thinking and outstanding communication skills
