Head of Design – KSA
Job Overview:
We are looking for an innovative and strategic Head of Interior Design Services to lead, grow, and transform our interior design division. The successful candidate will drive excellence across design development, execution, and client engagement, while spearheading expansion initiatives throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
His role focuses on excellent client and pitch interface, creativity, consistent delivery products, optimising processes, including resource allocation, financial control, and team time management. The input to the win strategy is vital for our Saudi Growth plan.
As head of design of the teams, he/she will be ultimately responsible for the creative output of the business and the strategy for design projects to win. She/he will lead, guide, mentor, manage and support the team of interior designers, technicians and visualisers. Excellent management, communication and presentation skills are a pre-requisite combined with a keen understanding of the design process and commercial nature of a project management, design and build business.
This role will report into the head of FIT OUT in KSA
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & ExpansionDefine and evolve the design service offering to include innovative and competitive featuresBuild strategic partnerships with developers, government entities, and international design collaboratorsMap opportunities and oversee proposal development for new cities and client profilesDesign Oversight & Quality ControlEstablish and maintain design excellence standards across all projectsApprove design outputs and ensure alignment with client objectives, regulations, and brand guidelinesManage design reviews, critique sessions, and internal quality checksHave responsibility for the smooth running of the design teams including workload planning and allocation; people leadership, management and development; ensuring quality control while driving creativity and innovation in everything we produce.Grow a design team that balances creative innovation with technical precisionLaunch professional development tracks, internships, and knowledge-sharing initiativesCreate a diverse and inclusive team culture that fosters originality and accountability. Liaising with technical designers, suppliers and subcontractors to manage andDevelop the design through each stage of the process from conception to completion. Attending site meetings when requiredallocate resources effectively and to manage budgets set a relationship of trust with the build team and all other departmentsReport financial performance on monthly basisAttending high level meetings with clientsQualifications & Experience
Criteria
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design ( Plus), Architecture, or allied discipline
Experience:+10–15 years of progressive experience, including leadership of interior projects and teams
Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of design trends, cultural context, and client expectations in KSA and GCC
Technical Expertise: Skilled in design strategy, BIM, FF&E, sustainability integration, and interior detailing
Tools: Revit, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, SketchUp, BIM, ….etc
Languages: Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus
