Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, visionary leader to join the newly formed Commercial Analytics & Insights (CA&I) organization as Head of Data COE out of our Cambridge, MA office.


As Head of Data COE, you will play a key role in transforming data operations into strategic assets that drive commercial excellence across business units. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Analytics & Insights, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners including Brand/Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, Finance, and Medical teams to deliver actionable insights that drive business performance and enhance patient outcomes. This role focuses on upcoming supporting launches while building capabilities to enhance performance across Takeda's portfolio of growth brands.

How you will contribute:Support the development and execution of data and AI strategy that aligns with Takeda's business objectives across multi-functional and multi-therapy areaCollaborate in transforming fragmented data, analytics, and reporting into unified systems that serve as strategic assetsDrive change management initiatives to create a data-driven culture across the organizationBuild partnerships with DD&T, commercial, medical, and R&D leadership to enable data-driven decision makingFoster Human-AI Collaboration and Change ManagementSupport Data-Driven Decision Making and Strategy implementation in large pharmaSupport the establishment and maintenance of robust data governance frameworks that ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all data domainsCollaborate with Enterprise Governance & Quality organization to implement consistent standards and practicesSupport the development of data quality measurement systems and improvement processes across therapy areasWork with specialized data quality teams focused on functional areas across TAs (GI, Neuro, Plasma, Rare Diseases)Ensure regulatory compliance in all data management practices

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree required, Advanced degree (master’s or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or related field; MBA is preferred.Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in data, analytics, and technology leadership roles required.10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry with a deep understanding of data and analytics operations requiredProven track record leading teams in a matrix organizationExperience supporting enterprise-wide data governance programs and AI capabilitiesSuccess record in supporting organizational transformation initiativesStrong expertise in data governance, data quality management, master data management, and data productsUnderstanding of AI and machine learning applications in pharmaceutical commercial operationsExperience in fostering Human-AI Collaboration and Change ManagementSupport for Data-Driven Decision Making and Strategy in large pharmaAI and Machine Learning Proficiency with GenAI exposure in PharmaEntrepreneurial agility in delivering innovation, operational efficiencies, and creative ways of solving data and insight gaps through data strategy executionKnowledge of healthcare data sources, patient analytics, and HCP targeting modelsExperience with cloud-based analytics platforms and modern data architectureUnderstanding of pharmaceutical commercial operations data requirements and workflowsFamiliarity with regulatory requirements for data management in healthcare

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$208,200.00 - $327,140.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
