Head of Compliance

• The HSBC Brazil Head of Compliance is a key strategic risk management leadership role that has a broad remit and responsibilities for providing oversight and management, of all aspects of Regulatory Compliance (RC) and Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Risks including impact analysis of regulatory changes, and driving coordination and execution of the various Compliance work streams and assurance, while ensuring alignment with Global Standards.• The role requires strong partnership with the business FCC team and Regional FCC teams, acting in concert with them to drive the implementation of policy arising out of Global Standards Committee. It will monitor and track the regional progress of various work streams and initiatives underway which fall under the umbrella of Financial Crime Risk and Global Standards, provide policy advice related to all business line products, services and clients, and ensure that the Financial Crime Compliance function is resourced adequately to address the risks associated with all business lines in HBBZ.• The role will also need to stay at the forefront of key regulatory changes to ensure proactive communication with business and develop appropriate policy and framework to manage the changes, particularly extra territorial changes. It will be the go-to person for both Global Standards and workstream leads to ensure processes are coordinated and implementation risks and issues are considered and addressed.• Support regulatory changes implementation within timelines mandated by regulators and collaborate in regulatory change framework / regulatory mapping / regulatory regimes and engage with relevant stakeholders to act as the central communication channel with regulators to deliver responses to regulatory requests and proper coordination of regulatory inspections.• The role is a critical forward looking leadership role and requires strong partnership with business to drive and accelerate the execution of Financial Crime Compliance programmes that directly impact business performance. . This role is accountable for the implementation of Financial Crime Risk Compliance policies in to the business and as such it will require close collaboration with various Risk and Business functions.• The role will be a member and participate actively in the Reputational Risk Committee and is a mey member of the highest governance forums within the country and the Latin america (LAM) Region.• The role holder reports into the local Chief Risk Comppliance Officer and leads a team of senior colleagues stewarding HBBZ Compliance framework across all business uits and functions.

• Significant experience as a regulator, or a senior compliance manager across all areas of Compliance risk within a global firm, in the financial services industry.
• Significant leadership experience and an experienced strategic thinker.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels.
• Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues.
• A legal or formal accountancy qualification or professional background in a relevant risk or audit discipline.

• Significant experience as a regulator, or a senior compliance manager across all areas of Compliance risk within a global firm, in the financial services industry.
• Significant leadership experience and an experienced strategic thinker.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels.
• Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues.
• A legal or formal accountancy qualification or professional background in a relevant risk or audit discipline.
