What does a Regional Senior Director, Commercial Finance do at Hogarth?
The Regional Senior Director, Commercial Finance is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all client financial operations across the organization's regional footprint. Reporting to the CFO, Americas, this individual will serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, driving revenue growth, ensuring profitability, and maintaining financial integrity across all client engagements. The Regional Senior Director will lead a team of finance professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities to foster a high-performing and collaborative environment. This role requires a deep understanding of the client services industry, exceptional financial acumen, strong leadership skills, excellent collaboration skills with internal partners, and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Strategic Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial finance strategy across North America that aligns with the organization's overall business objectives and drives revenue growth. Lead the development of financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives, such as new market entry, service expansion, and pricing optimization. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against strategic goals and identify areas for improvement.Client Financial Management:
Oversee the development and management of client budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Partner with account teams and clients to develop and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and construct competitive and profitable fee structures. Ensure all stakeholders adhere to documented processes for work development, bidding, estimating, fee approval, billing, and reconciliation. Develop and maintain rate cards for US and Canada that reflect industry standards, agency protocols, and market conditions, ensuring consistency and transparency. Review and analyze data, including staff utilization, revenue forecasts, and actuals, to ensure profitability and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Oversee the billing process to ensure timely and accurate invoicing, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly.Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and manage a team of finance professionals across multiple locations, providing mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews to ensure team members are meeting their goals. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance team. Identify and recruit top talent to build a high-performing and diverse team.Process Improvement & Innovation:
Continuously review and evaluate financial processes and practices, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and profitability. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline workflows and improve data quality. Leverage technology and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.Risk Management & Compliance:
Identify and assess financial risks associated with client engagements, developing and implementing mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Oversee the preparation and review of financial audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Stakeholder Management & Communication:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, account teams, and clients. Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Participate in monthly account reviews as a member of the core account team, providing financial insights and recommendations.

Experience: Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in commercial finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in the client services industry, preferably in media, advertising, or marketing, with a deep understanding of agency financial operations. Financial Acumen: Expert knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and budgeting/forecasting techniques. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Strong line manager with ability to hire, retain, and develop staff Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends. Client Relationship Skills: Exceptional client relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Regional Perspective: Experience working in an environment across both the US and Canada, with an understanding of international financial regulations and cultural differences.
