Head of Category Production Equipment & Contract Manufacturing (m/f/d)

 

 

SIG Procurement Ltd. is the central Sourcing and Procurement division within the SIG Group setting directives and group wide procurement processes, defining strategies for procurement of goods and services globally and being responsible for the procurement of the required goods.

Head of Category Production Equipment & Contract Manufacturing (Spouts) is a key enabler driving procurement excellence closely aligned with the key stakeholders globally and manages the procurement part the respective category

Responsible for setting the strategy for the sourcing and supply of production equipment globally and across multiple sites located in 6 regions delivering continuous competitive advantages in terms of cost, quality, service, and innovation as well as leading the procurement strategy and negotiations for spout contract manufacturing at multiple plants to deliver competitive tier pricing and contract conditions.
 

 

Key responsibilities Developing the global sourcing strategy for production equipment and spout contract manufacturing to drive value and achieve global targets to secure the best manufacturing and supply chain cost Identifying and evaluating sourcing improvement potentials (cost, lead times, technologies etc.) by conducting market intelligence and by collaboration with global development, engineering, production, and supply chain teams Bundling of global needs to optimize cost, inventory, and lead times Strategic supplier management including selection, qualification, evaluation, and steering Conducting category relevant supply market research in which the supplier operates to apply industry best practices on an ongoing basis: business trends, market conditions, supplier cost structure and benchmarks Negotiating and establishing global contracts (and any subsequent claims) with key suppliers across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring legal compliance, adherence to regulatory requirements, and ensuring that contracts are managed proactively, including life-cycle-management Responsible for final pricing, payment terms, and all other relevant contract conditions Accountable for steering, tracking, and controlling the realization of defined activities within the relevant category: YoY savings, roll-out and adoption, taxonomy, spend contracted, supplier’s consolidation, trade payables aligned to best industry standards, compliance to programs, etc. Key procurement partner for large scale and global projects such as new production plants, plant expansions, and new production technologies Providing functional leadership and direction to stakeholders and regional category buyers, including periodical reporting to the sites, regional and global management Managing global Buying Centers with all relevant internal stakeholders to ensure that offers received are adequate and that the required conditions are being met including best pricing, and best terms, and conditions

 

You bring these skills, experience & education Bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering, marketing, supply chain, operations, business administration, or a related field, master’s degree is a benefit Minimum 10 years indirect or direct procurement experience, including production equipment, and food packaging materials. MRO knowledge (maintenance, repairs, and operation) would be beneficial Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and their application (e.g. fact-based negotiations and cross functional global team collaboration) Strong negotiation skills at all reporting levels with a good understanding of key commercial, economical, technical, legal, compliance, and supply chain terms and conditions Experienced with progressive procurement tools, such as break down of cost structures, supplier business plans, electronic auctions, etc. Record of establishing and leading cross-functional teams, driving international cost saving programs, and working in a global matrixed organization Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to network, establish and maintain good working relationships cross-functionally, and across regions Strong system skills including MS-Office (xls, doc, ppt), understanding MRP/ERP systems, such as BRAVO, SAP Fluent in English, German language is of advantage Travelling is required up to 33%, depending on the necessity   SIG competencies
