Description
The Head of Business Credit Services (BCS) is responsible for leading the centralized credit delivery and portfolio management functions within the Business Banking division. This role oversees the origination, underwriting, and servicing of credit across a geographically dispersed footprint, ensuring operational excellence, strategic alignment, and prudent risk management. The Head of BCS plays a critical role in shaping the credit strategy, driving transformation, and enabling growth across the small, medium, and emerging middle market segments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Execution
· Develop and execute short and long-term strategies to optimize credit delivery, improve operational efficiency, and support revenue growth across Business Banking.
· Lead the transformation of credit operations through centralized underwriting and portfolio management, enabling consistent and scalable credit decisions
· Drive the change agenda for Business Credit Services, partnering across enterprise functions to ensure seamless execution and integration.
Credit Risk & Governance
· Define and manage the credit risk appetite for Business Banking, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk frameworks and regulatory expectations.
· Oversee execution of the credit model across channels, including scored, streamlined, and full underwriting processes
· Ensure strong risk controls and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Customer Experience & Enablement
· Champion initiatives that enhance the customer experience through efficient credit delivery and proactive portfolio management.
· Collaborate with sales, treasury, and digital teams to deliver integrated credit solutions tailored to client needs.
Talent Development & Leadership Culture
· Lead a geographically dispersed team of credit professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous development.
· Build leadership bench strength and succession planning through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
Financial Oversight
· Manage expense budgets for Business Credit Services and contribute to revenue and loan loss forecasting.
· Support capital planning and resource allocation to align with strategic priorities and growth targets.

Qualifications
Experience & Skills
· Proven leadership in credit operations, underwriting, or portfolio management within a commercial or business banking environment.
· Strong understanding of credit risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and operational controls.
· Experience managing large teams and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
· Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities and stakeholder management skills.
Education
· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications in finance, credit, or risk management preferred.
