BUSINESS CONTEXT AND JOB PURPOSE

In Beauty and Wellbeing North America, we bring to life Purpose, Science and Desire through our breakthrough innovations, deep customer relationships, and strong culture of care. The work we do internally and externally is rooted in our purpose to “Inspire Beauty-Full Lives so all people can live well and thrive.”

We are a €1.5B business, primarily driven by our 5 core brands including TRESemme, Dove, Shea Moisture, Nexxus and Vaseline across the US and Canada.  The B&W business in Canada is a Contender for leadership in the Hair category, a Challenger in the Hand & Body Lotion category as well as the Wellbeing (Hydration & Vitamins) space, requiring strong strategic agility and visionary leadership coupled with strong bias for action to drive success. The Head of Beauty + Wellbeing Collective, Canada will lead critical work across all portfolio brands in close partnership with the cross functional BU leadership team.

Given our contender and challenger positions in the market, it is critical for this person to lead strategically across the portfolio to accelerate and solidify citadels of market leadership and deaverage our challenger strategy to drive market disruptions. Reporting to the CEO of B&W North America, this portfolio role in Canada is an end to end business leadership role and has broad responsibility to drive topline and bottom line growth for the business via direct and indirect cross functional leadership and connectivity:

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

Leadership of Canada marketing and CS&P teams to deliver BU P&L, business objectives and competitive shareDeliver in-year and long-term growth by creating a 3 year Financial growth model and a brand growth model to win in CanadaLocalize the NA brand strategy and innovation roadmap for Canada to address local consumer and customer needsOwn the Canada Portfolio strategy, including: brand architecture, price pack architecture, consumer/customer segmentation and premiumization agendaGuide and sign off on brand marketing plans in Canada B&W to win with consumers and customers and pilot the social first demand generation marketing model in CanadaLeadership of CS&P teams to deliver customer and channel specific strategy and strong execution to win at shelf, both instore and digitalOwn the investment model for the business (including Trade and Brand Marketing budget) and the Cost Transformation agenda to deliver sustainable profitable growthBe part of the NA Investor Board to represent Canada and input on key innovation, renovation and design 4 channel projects for CanadaCollaborate with functional leaders (NA Brand, Canada Customer Operations, Canada Customer Development, NA SC) to drive excellence in execution for local operationsLead internal and external stakeholder management, including and not limited to retailer top-2-tops and agency ecosystemChampion of Beauty Marketing - ensuring our teams are supported with proper capability training, externally focused excursions, and competitive immersionsBuild a positive beauty culture in B&W Canada Dock with BG and BU innovation and equity teams to receive what is needed to winLead the whitespace of “Wellbeing” in Canada and turbocharge the hydration and vitamins business with a keen entrepreneurial mindset and problem solving skillsCoaching of 6 direct reports and 4 indirect functional reports

Must Have’s & Experience Required

12+ years of related Marketing experienceResponsible for in year delivery, P&L management, customer planning and category strategies including deployment of TTS Deep knowledge of the Canadian beauty & wellbeing market and relevant category & brand experienceP&L management responsibilityMultiple rotations in innovation & engagement roles across beauty marketingStrong understanding of the Canadian retail landscapeDemonstration of an entrepreneurial mind set and strong bias for action with proven results leading and motivating internal cross functional teams and external partners. Experience developing disruptive strategies in highly competitive segments.Consumer love, a passion for beauty and proven craftmanship from opportunity spotting to insight, proposition and customer story.Develops key customer & channel drivers to deliver Annual Operating Plan (AOP); communicate, engage & deliver with the field team.   Makes strategic trade-offs and defines investment framework (Trade, Shopper Marketing, ISV, Retail coverage) to deliver AOP.  Ensure excellence in brand and customer operations across B&W business through ownership of S&OP and forecasting processes.      Bring the category customer and consumer voice to life through leadership of Category Insights team.   Use shopper and customer insights and trends to understand and leverage new opportunities for growth as the path to purchase evolves. Leverage Net Revenue Management (NRM) strategies and capabilities to drive investment for the future.  Significant engagement and relationship building with top customers and leading key partnershipsWillingness to be based out of Toronto, Canada.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Deep expertise in the CA customer landscape and retail network is a must.Deep knowledge of the CA beauty & wellbeing market and relevant category, brand and customer experience. Generates operational intensity & accountability behind the performance target framework; highly skilled at using data and insights to influence.  Consumer love, a passion for beauty and proven craftmanship from opportunity spotting to insight, proposition and customer story. Strong managerial experience is a must; the Head of B&W + Wellbeing CA will create an inclusive environment that empowers everyone to be their best; deliver new heights; and develop our people everyday   Brings the voice of the category and customer into everything we do, always.   World Class business acumen; able to generate innovative growth opportunities  Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategies, tactics and measurable implementation plans across many areas.  Demonstration of an entrepreneurial mind set and strong bias for action with proven results leading and motivating internal cross functional teams and external partners.   Experience developing disruptive strategies in highly competitive segments. Have practical know-how, demonstrating a high-performance orientation while empowering and holding the team accountable for results.    Role will be based in Toronto

Pay: The pay range for this position is $221,100 to $386,925. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI) This position is LTI eligible.
