Head Nurse
Head Nurse The Head Nurse will oversee the clinical operations of the University Health Services Clinic, SGU, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patientcare in alignment with university policies and healthcare standards. This leadership role involves supervising nursing staff, managing clinical workflows, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and implementing best practices for patient safety and satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision + Provide direct supervision to nursing staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and mentorship. + Foster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive work environment. + Develop and maintain schedules to ensure adequate staffing for clinic operations. Clinical Operations + Oversee patient care delivery, ensuring compliance with evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines. + Monitor and enhance workflow efficiency, reducing wait times and improving patient outcomes. + Coordinate with administrative and medical staff to address operational challenges. Policy Implementation & Compliance + Ensure adherence to all university policies, regulations, and accreditation standards. + Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA. + Conduct regular audits of clinical processes and implement corrective actions as needed. + Prepare weekly epidemiology report and submit to MOH. Patient Care + Act as a resource for complex cases, providing expertise and hands-on assistance as required. + Advocate for patient-centered care, ensuring dignity, respect, and effective communication. Quality Improvement & Education + Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and clinic performance. + Organize continuing education programs and training sessions for nursing staff. + Stay updated on advancements in nursing practices and healthcare technology. Budget & Inventory Management + Assist in budget preparation and monitor expenditures related to clinical operations. + Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure timely procurement. + To maintain Controlled Drugs inventory under the guidance of Pharmacist and Director Qualifications Education: + Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent preferred. + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Licensure: + Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Grenada Experience: + Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. + Experience in a clinic or ambulatory care setting is strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies: + Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. + Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. + Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation processes. + Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Work Environment + The position requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
