Head, R&D Technology Enabled Science

Responsibilities:

Develops a deep knowledge of the function supported and builds positive relationships throughout the supported function.  Additionally, educate business partners about processes, roles, and capabilities of I&T that can create value for the supported functionEnsures business value realization and optimization, develops, and maintains technology roadmaps, business case development, financial awareness, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities where technology can add value.Proactively serves as a trusted advisor and is the primary I&T point of contact to business line executives and managers. Provides highly valued strategic consulting level support and guidance through key I&T initiatives. Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information regarding business unit requests, projects, and initiatives.Leads a team of business partners, project managers, business analysts, an application support team consisting of internal and Capgemini resources. Provides support in delivering technology projects that meet the needs of the business. Focuses on strategic initiatives and planning activities for their business area. Strive to understand market challenges, including customer priorities and competitive issues.  Responsible for the development and implementation of solution roadmaps and to ensure successful introductions across the organization and with customers, ensuring compliance and satisfactory customer experience.Ensure successful collaboration with other I&T functions. Identifies business function opportunities and adoption within the business partner organization.  Partner with business leadership to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how technology fits into business capability roadmaps and priorities. Partner with appropriate I&T functions to establish matrix teams to establish solutionsFocuses on business value and framing the problem before solutions development to develop ideas, including digital awareness, risk assessments, business continuity, and business capability requirements.Develops and drives the I&T vision and strategy for the business function supported which creates a vision and inspires confidence/creates purpose.Be creative and innovative using industry trends and digital advances as they relate to new opportunities and business needs.Ability to apply identified I&T architectural principles to business solutions and ensure alignment across relevant I&T standards, methodologies, and frameworksProvide applicable business best practice guidance and support where needed, while supporting continuous improvement to applicable technology platforms and applications across multi-geographic locations (United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific) Ability to visualize and create high-level models/frameworks that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architectureResponsible for the people and sourcing strategy to ensure the strategic goals of the business are met (Business Partnering, Project Management Support, Applications Support).  This includes managing a mix of internal and external staff via CSL’s contract with Capgemini


Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree required in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline. Master’s degree or equivalent; MBA desirableUndergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, mathematics, etc. Ten years related strategic technology leadership with exposure to the functional area supported 15 years' progressive IT experience across multiple disciplines with at least 10 years of leadership experience Minimum 3-5 years' experience managing IT in a global environment Experience and track record in project management Demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management and critical stakeholders Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience desirable 5 years developing and executing strategic plans and/or project portfolios or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  The incumbent must possess strong business acumen. Strategic thinking with a strong operational mindsetResults-oriented with strong execution capabilitiesCollaborative leadership in a matrix environmentExcellent communication and influencing skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong business acumen and enterprise mindsetPassion for driving operational excellence and continuous improvementChange leadership and organizational agility
