Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HAZMAT SPECIALIST-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1411P01 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard. Responsibilities As a HAZMAT SPECIALIST-TITLE 32, GS-2001-9, you will provide management control, oversight, coordination, and implementation of the base "HAZMAT Pharmacy" program and operation. Coordinate with a variety of functional elements, personnel, and off-base contacts to accomplish assigned mission. Serve as a technical advisor to the Wing Commander regarding the hazardous materials program and issues; and serves as a member of the HAZMAT Planning Team, the Environmental Protection Committee, and as an advisor to the base Safety Counsel. Determine storage requirements, arrangement of materials, and space utilization required. Use safe and secure storage and distribution practices to ensure maximum protection of workforce personnel and the environment. Serve as the HAZMAT systems administrator utilizing the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS), Enterprise Supply Solution (ESS), Environmental Management Information System (EMIS), and Enterprise Environmental Safety Occupational Health-Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) to manage and update HAZMAT inventory data. Track hazardous materials for deployments and redeployments. Develop base regulations and operating instructions and procedures involving hazardous material requirements and processes in accordance with Federal, State, and military regulations, guidelines, and instructions. Develop and conduct HAZMAT training to managerial, supervisory, and base personnel. Conduct worksite visits, identifies customer concerns, and determines materials usage. Gather and compile information for reports to Federal, State, USAF, and/or ANG agencies regarding program status, HAZMAT item status, compliance issues, budget information, etc. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Grades: SrA(E4)-TSgt(E6) RANK REQUIREMENT: Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience involving cost estimates, budgets or funding management. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.
